I am an ex-customer of Fingerhut Corp. For what ever reason Axsys Bank a sudsidery of Fingerhut cancel my account, and refuse any more credit.I am paying off the balance owed each month I am charge $27.00 for interest.

I think this is a big rip off, I am not going to pay this interest they are charging me each, I only owe the balance owed. I am not responsible for their financial problems, or their filing bankruptcy.

As a customer I paid my bills on time never late I will not let Fingerhut ,or Axsys Bank use me in this manner. I am also charge purchases fees what ever that means. I have not purchases any items, I cut up their credit card and mailed it back to them. This is my rip off problem!

Sincerly,

Katheryne

Terry, Well, I read Katheryne's original report, and she says nothing about being charged late fees. She does say she was never late - but the fees she's talking about are (1) interest payments and (2) "purchase fees" (I have no idea what those are, either. (Point being: if you're going to criticise a respondent for "not reading" the original report, make sure what you're saying is accurate. Otherwise, it makes you look silly.) I don't really want to defend Fingerhut, because I think these catalogue credit cards are a bunch of BS - but as far as the interest goes, she is responsible for paying interest on the balance owed. No one gives credit without charging interest - except those introductory "0% for 6 months" deals that are popular these days. Just because her account is closed doesn't mean she doesn't pay interest on the balance owed. As far as the "purchase fees" go, I have no idea what those are. I know some of these places charge a fee if you don't purchase anything in a specified amount of time - but if her account is closed, I can't figure out how they would apply in her case. It would help to know what these fees are for to figure out what course of action she should take. Yes, the "purchase fee" part of her bills are probably a rip-off; but the interest (although probably obscenely high, but that's another story) is another issue & is something that even a reputable credit agency would require paid on a closed account that still carries a balance.

DID YOU NOT READ ( AXsys employees have a habit of not reading what is written ), that this poster said HE WAS NEVER LATE ?? and is being charged late fees ?? What is it that led him/her to stop paying you ??, the late charges you are not entitled to. When fingerhut and it's EMPLOYEES violated the agreement with the consumer , the contract is broken by FINGERHUT,and the contract -- agreement is VOIDED. It is FINGERHUTs ( WILLFULL ) failer to responde to consumer complaint, and obnoxious replies like the one posted hear, that makes you liable !! NOTE: CONSUMER ALERT : WHEN FINGERHUT PULLS THIS ON YOU

FYI, Fingerhut/Axsys has the right to charge you interest and late charges until your account is totally paid off. Closing your account with them for further purchase activity does not relieve you of the responsibility to pay the interest on the balance accrued. So anyone who thinks they can close their account and just make payments on the balance is fooling themselves. You want to get rid of them take out a lower interest loan somewhere and pay fingerhut off in full.
