If when you return an item, and they say you do not have the required information, i.e., receipt, identification etc., get the telephone number for the regional office and talk to them about it. Nine times out of ten, the regional manager will require the management of the store you are at to do anything possible to make you happy. If you are employed there and try to follow the company policies they berate you, and the same if you don't follow company policy. It is a damned if you do damned if you don't scenario. This happened several times during my employment at FB.

Fashion Bug DOES have a 45 day workmanship quality guarantee. However, without a reciept, it's hard to do alot. If an item becomes damaged within 45 days due to poor workmanship, we gladly will accept your return. If you did not have the reciept, you could have returned the damaged item, and exchanged it for the exact same blouse. While it is important to make the customer happy, following company policy is also important. Fashion Bug frequently has sales with large percentages off all merchandise. So without a receipt, we would have to go off the word of the customer for how much they paid, and how they paid.

I have read all the ripe off's and answer's and if you read all you would all laugh... First this person said that no reason to save the reciept it fit... but was damaged after a wash. I have had clothes for months before wearing and washing, and to not keep a reciept "JUST BECAUSE" is stupid... NO ONE keeps ALL reciepts. be for real guys. But if she had shop there and the employess know what was happening then a satisfied problem should be for ALL parties, not just voice opinons. Let's see what happens to you people so easy to judge when you happen to not keep that 1 reciept out of the thousands you claim you keep, and you get a damaged product, them we can laugh at you to.......

This can't be the first time you've purchased from a retail establishment and had to return something without a reciept. That is common, wide-spread, retail practice. Regardless of what you were told, the employees MUST follow company policy. Stop blaming them for your own stupidity. You're the one who threw away the reciept, they're just doing their jobs. Chalk it up as a lesson learned and move on. And while you're at it you might want to look into procuring some sense of personal responsibility.

I have worked in retail for over twenty years. It amazes me how many people are bewildered by the return policies of stores. If you are a savvy shopper you should know that for any return, especially if you paid cash, you should keep your reciept. Then, if you do encounter a problem returning merchandise at the store , you will have a RECORD OF YOUR TRANSACTION.

Not "all people" are trying to rip off a store nor the customer. But before you can make remakrks "you know nothing about" you need to know the whole story. Only most is there for people to be aware that "even when told" by someone who works there... One thing and get there and is told another. I am sure you do not like paying one price and finding out later you have a product that is no good and want to "EXCHANGE" it you can not for equal price, yet you paid more. If you do you "have " to be the only one that likes getting RIP OFF

I've heard this argument a hundred times. I've never worked in retail but never fails to make me laugh when some idiot consumer tries to return something used without a receipt and expect the full purchase price back. Are they psychic? Stores like Fashion Bug have clearances all the time! How are they supposed to know when you bought it? That's why they give you the sale price because its the lowest price available. Next time, file your rip off report in the "idiot consumer" section, and stop bothering this website with nonsense!

"Satisfaction guaranteed" does not mean that you can demand any price you want when returning defective, used merchandise. Without your receipt, you have no way of proving you spent $29.95 on the item. The store has no way of knowing if you paid for the item at all, or stuffed it inside your purse inside the dressing room and walked out of the store with the stolen goods. Yet, the store was kind enough to refund the current selling price on the used, un-resellable item, even though you were not responsible enough to keep your receipt, or "proof of purchase." It sounds to me like the store did everything they could do for you, GIVEN THE CIRCUMSTANCES. Unfortunately "satisfaction guaranteed" does not apply to all people, as there will always be some trying to beat the system and get a few extra bucks in unscrupulous ways.
