I have read about the experiences of people who paid money but did not get published or receive a copy of their book. I can only relate my experience with regard to Famous Poets. I am not here to defend them.
I sent my poem, bio, and currency to Famous Poets during the Summer of 2008. I did not hear from them until 2009. My poem and bio appeared in their 2009 publication as part of a collection of around 50 (or more) poems. Apparently, they are slower than advertised.
In all fairness, I did change addresses between sending out the poem and receiving the book along with a CD that included a baritone maestro reading my classic Ode to a Sunday School Teacher.
The means by which I received this first published print effort is not the best wayto go about getting published. It is not looked upon as something that counts toward published in print status by serious evaluators of writing talent. Still, I possess a copy of this book and love the sight of my name in print.

On 6/5/07 I received a completed copy of the Famous Poets of the Heartland 15th Anniversary Collectors Edition book of Poems with acccompanied C.D. Inside the book and C.D. my three poems were written and voiced to my satisfaction. It has taken well over a year for this to happen with very sparce communication from the Famous Poets Society. However, they have completed thier end of the deal and I am o.k. with that..,note the small letters for o.k. It is also interesting to note that this all happened so shortly after I entered my original report with Ripoffreport.com. In any event, I Thank you so much for "Being There".
