Just because the grocery store allowed you to have a bag doesn't mean Family Dollar is going to as well. It's Family Dollar's policy, and you have to follow it if you wish to shop there. If you don't like it, then don't go in the store. You weren't ripped off, you weren't treated differently because you're disabled, you're just trying to get attention.

My husband is wheelchair bound and has a backpack attached to the back of his chair. There are many stores where he's asked to please leave his backpack at the counter. We have no problem with that and understand fully why some stores have that policy. As far as being handicap, 99.9% of the time stores go out of their way to accomodate his chair even to go so far as to move things so he can get around... even at the Dollar Stores. To assume you were treated this way simply because your handicap is just WRONG! Your attitude and backpack is what caused the problem, not the store!

And everything to do with the fact that you had a bigger form of storage on your person. I'm not disabled and I guarantee I would have been treated the same way. What kind of damage do you have done to your shoulders that you are on disability?
I'd also like to know why your disability is everyone else's problem. Last time I checked, if I have bronchitis, it isn't everyone else's responsibility to carry around tissues for me. I am my own responsibility. You are your own. You are not my responsibility. You are a grown adult, stop expecting other people to take care of you and cater to your whims.
"I've never stolen anything in my life"
While I don't doubt this, that clerk doesn't know that. It sounds like that store probably has a shop lifting problem. I bet that store also has a sign somewhere that says they reserve the right to search bags.
"...according to the poilicy of Family Dollar I'm an already guilty before I walked through the store doors."
I don't know why more people don't get this. This is for EVERYONE'S protection. If they search your bag upon you ENTERING the store and you've got a Kit Kat in there, they know it's yours. If they search it on the way out and see that you have a Kit Kat in there, now you're suspect because they don't know if you stole it or not. It's for everyone's protection. Period.
"And just because I have a backpack on I get yelled at several times just walking through the store, bells are ringing, the clerk is freaking out like someone already stole something, and then I get reprimanded when I go to buy some things."
Honestly, I feel dumb responding to this. Why would you not just say "What do you need?" Seriously, why would you not just see what she wanted. If she says "I need to go through your back pack." You have every right to ask why. They would probably say they have a lot of shop lifting or something like that. If you have nothing illegal or stolen in your back pack, you have nothing to worry about. I don't understand.
"I want this Dollar Store sued."
Really? I mean...really? Here's what I hear when I read this; "I want money from someone else because I'm lazy/broke/uneducated/underprivileged/whatever" You are the reason people can sue McDonald's for making their coffee hot. You are the bane of my existence.
"So no matter what insult you guys can invent Family Dollar is simply not respectful of their customers, point blank. Nothing you can say here changes that fact!"
And nothing you can say will change the fact that you are an entitled a*s. Guess what. Not my fault that you're "disabled". Just like it's not the Family Dollar's or Dollar Store's ( I don't know which because you said both, so I'm wondering about the legitimacy of this whole claim at this point) fault that you're "disabled". They didn't ask to take apart your wheel chair or inspect your oxygen tank.
Get over yourself.

Hey, didn't I tell you? I ended up going to the super market and bought some TP there. At the SELF CHECKOUT isle I dropped a dime and a store clerk came by and picked it up for me and said, "Here you so, Sir", all the while I was wearing my back pack. I checked out and walked out with my TP and the store treated me with respect. I've been in the grocery store at least a hundred this year with my back pack and not one time did anyone resemble psychopathic behavior as they did at Family Dollar.
So no matter what insult you guys can invent Family Dollar is simply not respectful of their customers, point blank. Nothing you can say here changes that fact!

A lot of stores wont allow people to bring bags in. They can refuse to allow you in if you don't comply. You didn't comply, you got kicked out. Stop crying and stop trying to get sympathy because of something unrelated.

The innocent until proven guilty thing is valid in a court proceeding.
The store obviously has had problems with people hiding 'stuff' in their backpacks and walking out with it. Would you have allowed her to search it before you left?
You are an unreasonable jerk and I'm certain they won't miss you.

Any store is entitled to require patrons to CHECK their luggage at the front.
You had no right to keep walking and ignoring the cashier.
They thus had a right to kick you out and ban you from coming back.
