Ramada Plaza Resorts Orlando - Ft. Lauderdale, Florida vacation resort ripoff
I to got a letter for a vacation. I only got one chance to take it so I was press into accepting now or losing out on what seem like a very good deal. I made a deposit over the phone for $698.00 dollars. This was in Oct., 2000. My mother died in Nov. 20, 2001 after that I did not want to go vacation or any where. I call them an explained what had happen. The said I could not get my money back and I had to take the vacation or lose the money. I have to pay for and extention because I could not go before my time was up. I paid the other $698.00 and went on the "tour" to Ramada Plaza Resorts at 2419 E. Commerical Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33308. The paper stated First-class accomodations. The rooms was so bad, we asked for another one, the 3 one was just acceptable, but we had no hot water. When we went on the "90 minutes tour" they tried to sell up timesharing which we turned down. They talked about if we get their timesharing we would be in the shitty hotel we was in, when asked for our vorcher for the curise, they told us we were going on a row boat, we was so afraid. It was a very small ship. We want the rest of our money back we don't to used the rest of the vacation package.
After they talked about the hotel and the cruise line we found out later that they owned both the hotel and the crusie Imperial Majesty Cruise Line Ship name: S. S. OceanBreeze.
The paper said Carnival Cruise Lines or Imperial Majesty Cruise Line, we understand they only have Imperial Majesty Cruise Line, not Carnival.
We had been on Carnival before when I called for the reservation and was told the name of the ship, I looked it up and called and cancelled that resevation, (August) the guy told me the next one would be Carnival, but when I called again they told me SS OceanBreeze was the only ship they used. I went in Nov., 2001. They send up a tape and everything, It was all a lie, nothig was like the tape.
