Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I did contracting software development work through their service. I was banned from their website in the past because of missing some deadlines. I was allowed to come back 2 years later and was banned after losing 3 arbitrations(with their phony arbitrators) and then I came back again 2 years later only to not have any problems this time. I had the highest ratings I could get from the people I worked with. Soon as it came time for them to send me my money, they banned me. Thus they're ripping me off for all the hours I spent working hard. All the money earned was from people who were satisfied with the results. It's a classic example of the middle man acting like a dictator and don't want to give you your money and I refuse to allow that to happen.

I don't care to use their service ever again. I just want my hard earned money. I'm going to file every and any complaint I can against this company. If I have to I will even start a boycotting website.

Response to legality of garnishing funds

Miroslav, This is Rod Smith, from Rent A Coder. I came across your posting about the Rent A Coder seller Agreement and how duplicate accounts are handled on the site. Keep in mind that when any user signs up to the Rent A Coder site, they are entering into a legal contract with Rent A Coder. The party (whether a buyer or seller) agrees to follow all policies included in the Buyer/Seller Legal Agreement. If the party decides to break the contract by not following the policies, there are possible consequences (such as losing their account or the funds they earned). This is a legal activity and is explained in the Seller Legal Agreement, so all users should be aware of it (if they read the agreement as they indicated). http://www.rentacoder.com/RentACoder/SoftwareCoders/SoftwareSellerLegal.asp If the user has an issue with that or any other part of the agreement, they should not agree to follow the terms and should not use the Rent A Coder site. We would not want someone to use the site under terms they are not comfortable with. If the user follows all the policies they agreed to follow when they signed up on the site, they won't need to worry about this or other consequences. The only time someone has to worry about this possible consequence is when they break their contract with Rent A Coder. I hope this clarifies any concerns regarding the legality of Rent A Coder garnishing the funds. Rod Smith Rent A Coder

I am attaching the link to the site where lies THE PROOF that this is not the single case. There are many others which have been ILLEGALLY taken away the money they earned: http://web.archive.org/web/20060128131247/rentacoderfraud.bravehost.com/emails.html

"The statement above makes it sound like money was taken from you unjustly and that it was somehow a surprise to you. In actuality, you knew the moment that you created the 2nd and 3rd accounts that if we discovered the fraud you were perpetuating against your buyers and your contract, the funds would be garnished." -this is a NON-LEGAL activity of the "Rent A Coder". this should go to THE COURT and the coder WILL win this because "Rent A Coder" DOESN'T HAVE THE RIGHT to "freeze" the money on THE CODER'S account. -this is not an isolated case. there are many similar cases regarding "Rent A Coder" which is popularly called "racketeering". go to the newsgroups and as a search phrase enter: "Rent A Coder"

Mr. Bryan, Rent a Coder has been notified of your above issues and I am investigating them. Certainly if you deserved a different result than you received in your experience with Rent a Coder, then I will make sure that this issue is taken care of for you immediately. On the other hand, if you have not described what happened to you fully and accurately, or if you do not fairly and justly deserve a different result, then unfortunately I will not be able to help you. In reviewing your issue, I have discovered the following: 1) Incomplete/misleading information: You said: I was banned from their website in the past because of missing some deadlines. which sounds like a minor issue. Banning site users for minor issues is not in the best interests of any party at Rent a Coder, including ourselves. In reviewing your account I discovered that you did not just miss some minor, inconsequential deadlines that were un-important to your buyers. The deadlines missed were crucial deadlines. You had legally agreed in advance you'd meet them, but did notthree times. They were: 1) Need a Kick A** GUI: rating 2did not complete work by deadline 2) TCP Project: rating 2did not complete work by deadline and did not fill-out weekly status reports 3) IE Browser Helper Object (BHO): rating 1:did not complete work by deadline and did not fill-out weekly status reports. Rent a Coder has a duty to protect buyers from coders who consistently fail to deliver upon their promises and contracts. Once a coder breaks their contract 3 times, we review your account and if you are negligent you are removed from the site. This occurred on 11/24/2002 =============== Dear Bryan, My job is to monitor all site systems. I discovered that you have posted something which violates the terms that you agreed to when you signed up (at http://www.rentacoder.com/RentACoder/misc/Legal.asp): *** You were banned from the site and RAC does not allow you to come back to the site by setting up another account *** Due to the severity or frequency of this offense, all of your accounts on Exhedra sites have been canceled. Exhedra Solutions, Inc. Rent a Coder Content Manager [email protected] http://www.RentACoder.com =============== 2) Inaccurate information: I was allowed to come back 2 years later and was banned after losing 3 arbitrations Mr. Bryan Brunori, you were never allowed to come back to Rent a Coder. In actuality you tried to sneak your way back on the site by creating a 2nd account. Not only was this unfair to your potential new buyers as it white-washed away your previous contractual lapses, it was also a violation of your Rent a Coder contract. Per that contract, all funds could be garnished for such fraud. http://www.rentacoder.com/RentACoder/SoftwareCoders/SoftwareSellerLegal.asp Duplicate Accounts. The anonymous nature of the Internet makes it possible for a seller who has had their account involuntarily terminated (or who received unfavorable ratings on that account) to create another account on the site and resume transacting business on the site, against the will of Exhedra. Exhedra regularly monitors site profiles for this sort of action, and should the Seller be determined by Exhedra to have done this, they will forfeit the balance of all of their accounts, and all funds will be returned back to the original buyer, minus the Exhedra fee. Seller agrees that Exhedra may use any means necessary to recoup previous payments sent on the duplicate account, including but not limited to a stop payment, Paypal/Western Union cancellation, or a collection agency. Additionally, the account will be closed. Seller further agrees that Exhedra may (at its option) withhold all or part of Seller's available funds as either a permanent penalty fee (to be kept by Exhedra) and/or as a "good behavior bond" for a certain period of time, to prevent them from opening another duplicate account. When this was discovered, in 12/4/2003, Rent a Coder sent you the following: Dear Bryan Brunori, You have been warned before about opening up other RAC accounts due to bad ratings. RAC rules specifically state that you are to only have one account. This account is being closed and $100 of your current earning will be held in your account for 6 months and after that time if you have not opened up anymore accounts then the money will be refunded back to you. If it is found that you have opened up an account within that 6 month period the money will not be refunded and any funds that you have in the new account will be returned to the buyer minus the 3.5% cancellation fee. Please respond ASAP and acknoledge that you understand that you are not to open up any more accounts on the RAC site. Judi Edgington (RAC) Exhedra Solutions, Inc. Rent a Coder Content Manager [email protected] http://www.RentACoder.com You were warned not to open up another account. The fact that you filed this complaint in 2005, seems to indicate that even this was not successfuland that you created a 3rd duplicate/fraudulent account. 3) Misleading information: Soon as it came time for them to send me my money, they banned me. Thus they're ripping me off for all the hours I spent working hard. The statement above makes it sound like money was taken from you unjustly and that it was somehow a surprise to you. In actuality, you knew the moment that you created the 2nd and 3rd accounts that if we discovered the fraud you were perpetuating against your buyers and your contract, the funds would be garnished. 4) Misleading information: It's a classic example of the middle man acting like a dictator and don't want to give you your money and I refuse to allow that to happen. You were already aware of the consequences of breaking the site rules prior to you having opened that additional account (as described in the email sent 12/4/2003). Yet, having known this information, you decided on your own to create another account on our site.
