“Let’s start with the facts:
Several months ago I contacted Exact Data via email to inquire about a business mailing list for contacts for an association we’ll call “ABC Association”.
I was quickly contacted by Rick Giddings ([email protected]) to inquire about my email request and I stated that I was interested in buying the email contact database for ABC Association. Rick Giddings ([email protected]) gave me a quote for the email database that I was looking for and also stated he could provide some additional services in-house which I wasn’t interested in. The price was fair I thought – a bit expensive – but fair for what I was getting.
I told Rick Giddings ([email protected]) that I needed to think about it and I would get back to him when I made a decision. Over the course of several months Rick Giddings ([email protected]) contacted me to inquire if I made a decision on my purchase; it was an aggressive sales technique which I could appreciate until I eventually caved and said ok let’s do it and I gave him my credit card number for payment. Exact Data had me sign some rather extensive documents online before I could download the ABC Association email data I was paying for. Fine, sign the documents, read the fine print, etc.
I pay and download the data which showed after a quick search that there didn’t exist one email for ABC Association that I had paid for!!! I immediately called Rick Giddings (rgiddings@Exact Data.com) to ask if he sent me the wrong file and I wanted a refund which he promptly said there must be a problem and he sent me to his boss Ryan Kluck ([email protected]) who stated in our first discussion that “I couldn’t have possibly ordered the ABC Association email list because it didn’t exist”. I asked “how could Exact Data sell me a list that didn’t exist” to which he stated he needed to get back to me. He called me back along with an email that said I signed the paperwork which essentially allowed them to sell me a worthless email list!!
I told both Ryan and Rick that "I will be providing a negative review posted online based on the $1,200.00 they ripped off of me" and they both laughed and said “go ahead” – so, with your permission granted to post this review, here it is.
A quick Google search and you’ll see a ton of complaints about both these guys and Exact Data at the Better Business Bureau and“ripoffreport.com”.
