Some of the reviews at glassdoor.com state that ExactData is growing. In paper, they are growing in employee size and moving to a new location by the middle of November 2015. Yes, that is true. However, they also have the largest employee turnover in Chicago! They keep hiring new sales reps because the CEO, Larry Organ, is trying to sell the company. What better way to do it than try to look good in paper: employee size and new location. Beware in working for this company. You are just a number and they will not invest their time and money on you.

Most of their data are also not theirs, even though their sales pitch is that that their email addresses are opt-in to their servers. Most of their data comes from MLX, Dun and Bradstreet, NetProspects, and Acxiom. They resell their data for DOUBLE the amount or more. They want you to buy their email deployment for about $200-$500 (depending on the sales rep, but same service) because if the email address bounces, the can just replace it with any e-mail address they want. Hence, it’s for their own safety so that they don’t have to refund you your money.

Exact Data prices for social media is also OVER PRICED – more than double than most. For example: Yahoo advertising is about $0.91 per click, and Exact Data charges $2.00 per click and $750 up front. Facebook advertising is only about $0.66 per click and Exact Data charges $1.50 per click and $395.00 up front. Do not get social media advertising through Exact Data. Might as well go to Yahoo or Facebook directly.

Also, if you decide to move forward with Exact Data, you most likely have to give your payment information through the phone. Sales reps write your credit card info and what you are buying on a piece of paper. They will then put all those info into their internal systems. What happens to that piece of paper? Sometimes sales reps throw it away, and some take it home with them. There are no security measures on what sales reps do with that piece of paper that they wrote your credit card info in. Sales reps (some with criminal backgrounds - Exact Data doesn't do background checks) can bring home your name, billing address, and credit card information to use wherever they want.

They also say that they have an A+ rating with the BBB, but have you seen how many complaints they have? They pay their former clients or the BBB to resolve their issues. If you have done business with Exact Data and don’t like the results, write a complaint with the BBB and you most likely will get your money back. It’s the only way. There are millions of complaints out there, but no praises besides from management in glassdoor.com. Take a hint and don’t associate yourself with Exact Data. They are highly unethical.
