We are a hard working family with small children and had very hopeful expectations of being able to hire a company to build a pool in Miami. Unfortunately, Essig Pools did not deliver and misled us from the moment they received our deposit. We hired Essig Pools to build a standard pool in our backyard. They were significantly higher priced then other pool companies but we chose them because we thought they were reliable, but we sooner learned ithey constantly failed their commitments after taking customer deposits.

After we gave them almost a $5000 deposit the communication stopped. They had promised weekly email and phone communication however after 2 months we only received one email from the "permit supervisor” stating that the permit was denied and they needed more time. To our absolute shock, when they came to our home to draw out the pool, they marked the pool in a completely different area then what they sold us. They didn’t even realize it until we told them and they apologized and the salesperson Carlos said he made a mistake. We had to show them their own plans they designed and explain what they proposed. I couldn’t believe it. How could a company charging in excess of $40,000 incorrectly draw out the pool.

Then after 3 months and not even a hole dug, we became extremely concerned. We started researching other customers and apparently they have many customers posting horrible reviews on Essig Pools. You can find these on Google, Yelp, and many other sites. Everything from very long delays, issues with getting permits, and unhappy customers. At this point we felt we could no longer trust this company and demanded a refund. They of course came up with every excuse in the book. Their very rude sales manager Ed yelled at us and became very aggressive and defensive when we questioned their lack of communication, poor online reviews, and blatant errors. We have hired an attorney to get our money back. They refuse to do so to this point and our threatening us. We were able to have the issue resolved with Essig Pools and we were satisfied with the outcome.  In the end, Essig came through and resolved the issue.
