2018 RoadTrek Motorhome purchased under guise of "peace of mind" warranty after dealer misrepresented the condition at time of purchase. Total sham. At the end of August I purchased a current year RoadTrek Simplicity SRT Class B Motorhome from Best Time RV in Las Vegas, a dealer who specializes in RoadTreks. It had roughly 37,000 miles on it.

I purchased it as-is, but under the guise that the fans and ACs were in working condition at time of purchase, and with the promise of RoadTrek's "Peace of Mind Warranty" which explicitly states that it covers things bumper to bumper in the coach for the first 6 years. The warranty is transferable and is good until 2023.

When I got out on the road, I immediately noticed that the macerator hose wasn't working properly, the lights were tricky to turn on, and the backlight just pops off all together when you hit a bump. There was some warping happening on the doors and in the bathroom also, so I contacted Best Time RV, who told me that since these things were under factory warranty on current year models, I just needed to contact RoadTrek directly. I did this immediately, and RoadTrek told me the next step would be to have an authorized warranty service provider check it out.

They sent me to Johnson RV in Oregon, since it is the closest to where I live (in Beaverton, Oregon), and the soonest they could get me in was the end of October. At that time, Johnson RV repaired the macerator hose and they were super helpful, but told me since they hadn't heard back from RoadTrek yet regarding the rest of the issues that needed addressing, we would need to wait on the rest.

When the rain started, it was clear that the fantastic fan AC on the ceiling of the rig was leaking (when closed). I reached out to Johnson RV who told me to bring it in this past week over the holiday, and what they found was truly heartbreaking. Apparently the warping in the vehicle is from extensive water damage, which they have assessed has happened because of broken factory seals in the fan and potentially elsewhere on the RoadTrek.

This is not new damage, as things are moldy and rusty, and Johnson RV's assessment was that there had been no seals on the AC/Fan unit at time of purchase and that "Best Time RV had no business selling you a rig in this condition". I'm really confused, because this is a 2018! These models are still sitting on lots across the country. How could this have happened to the seals already?

After being strung along for exactly 6 months I have had to cancel my tour because so much mold is growing in here and it's just a disaster. No one will help me. This past week RoadTrek contacted me and told me that they absolutely ARE going to honor the warranty and "want to have my vehicle back at the factory" as soon as their company-wide inventory was over. But as of today, an international criminal scandal at RoadTrek has hit the news and the company is closed. All of their employees were fired. The RoadTrek website is gone.

Everything Best Time RV told me to get me to buy this vehicle was a lie. There is no warranty. There is no company. And Best Time RV told me that they are partially owned by Erwin Hymer Group, so it’s no wonder they won’t help. These people took $60,000 of my dollars for something completely not what they said it would be, with no recourse or factory warranty as promised and sold with, and they are also unwilling to let me bring this thing back to them to get my money back, to have them fix it, or to swap it out for something that isn't slowly killing me with black mold. I need help.

We had to announce what was happening today since the tour is clearly not going to be possible and literally all other options have been exhausted over the past 6 months of trying to get this stuff worked out as Best Time RV had promised it would when they sold me the unit.
