got a postcard just after i bought the house. the front says WATER UPDATE in big italic letters, then Environmental Water Resource, phone niuber 352-346-5943. then it has a pre printed lable with my name and address on it.
on the back it says: WATER UPDATE in big italic letters again followed by: Unfortunately we were unable to reach you by phone or in person. Upon receiving this notice we as that you contact our office within 72 hours.

this is not an official department of any state, county, or local government. it purports to be one, and since your name is obtained from the public real estate sales records, you may think it is. they are a water filtration system sales company, which won't even use their real name on their website, or email. all this will do will get you probably fake results from a fake water test, and get you alarmed about non-exsistant bacteria. since you have been in town less than a week (most folks don't move in the same day) you haven't gotton around to visit all the official offices of your town, county, or state, and why would you? i called and found out there wasn't a water resource dept in my town. the reason i called: i have a complete water testing lab in the garage and if i suspected the water i would test it. i can test for about 100 minerals and compounds like oil, and bacteria. so uless you want to be pushed around and scared into spending a lot of money, steer clear of these guys and have your water tested by a government lab who doesn't want to give you fake results.
