Larry E. Hess, the owner and CEO of Encore Nationwide, is the most abusive, unprofessional, and corrupt person I've ever encountered in the promotional industry. In August, I caught the CEO lying many times in his emails to me and I have all the evidence saved to prove it. For example, on August 17, 2017, Larry emailed me saying my jobpail profile was deactivated because of "some no shows." He completely made that up because I had emailed his staff weeks in advance to let them know I was no longer able to work the event. How could I have been a "no show if I told them upfront & not at the last minute that I wasn't going to work when they sent me the email asking me to confirm?

How could I have been a "no show" if I never formally confirmed/accepted the booking in response to their email? He said I had "some no shows" as if I had gotten booked for past events with Encore. That is a complete LIE because that was the one and only time I got booked for an event with Encore. Larry Hess had the audacity to claim I "bailed" on the event when that was not the case. He literally used the word "bailed" in his email in an attempt to make me look bad! As someone else who wrote a review of Encore mentioned, "It states in their policies that it is not against the rules to cancel a gig." 

In one of Larry's rebuttals to a person's review on ripoffreport.com, he wrote: "If you have an issue and you come to me or anyone of my staff privately and let us know about it, I can easily look into the situation for you and fix it or let you know how you could have done things better." Well Larry, I actually did email you when I first found out I no longer had access to my Joppail profile. You did not take the time to respond to my email even though I saw you actively responding to other people's comments about Jobpail on a Facebook post. You finally told me that the woman who deactivated my account was away on vacation.

Why would you need to wait for her to get back from vacation and get her reason for deactivating my account if: 1) You are the owner of the company and have full control over Jobpail 2) I forwarded you solid proof that I was not a no show and that the person who deactivated my account lied. The story of why my Jobpail was deactivated went from me having "some no shows" to me sending them too many emails because no one from his company was responding. Wow, I didn't realize it is a crime or against your company's policy to send multiple emails. 

Larry and his staff are not cut out for this industry. Moreover, they are not cut out for running a business in the 21st century because they treat workers unfairly, are extremely slow to follow up with people and provide good customer service in a timely manner, fabricate nonexistent company policies to justify not offering the same pay rate as advertised on Facebook, don't pay people on time (or at all), deactivate jobpail profiles for the wrong reasons, and the list goes on. 

In fact, Encore got so many negative reviews that they recently hid/deleted every single review posted on their Facebook page. Too bad the screenshots are out there and the internet never forgets! 

I am still in the process of compiling all the evidence I have into one review so you can see Larry's true character. For now, you can read other people's negative reviews from the screenshots I took, yelp, ripoffreport.com, and complaints board .com. I'm currently reading another person's review about how she was removed from their system for arbitrary reasons. The reviewer used the word "abusive" in the title of her review to describe Larry Hess, so I'm not the only one who feels this way. 

Another reason not to work for Encore is they lowball you on pay. There are so many other promo companies that pay more, don't abuse their workers, and follow ethical business practices. Stay far away from Encore Nationwide!

Like I said to you many times.  We receive all sorts of requests (clients, staff, vendors, etc.) all day long.  While we take every staff inquiry seriously, it does in fact take us time to review all cases.  In most instances, we have to check with multiple people to make sure we are seeing all the facts, so we can make a sound judgment.

As you stated above, when I did not respond fast enough that is where you lost it.  You started with your rants, negative comments….all while I was trying to help you.  How eager do you think anyone is going to be to help you, when you are bombarding us with emails (insulting us) and taking to social media to blast us with false and negative claims?  Why would we want you to represent us or our clients?  Why would any agency reading this want you to represent them (they could be next on your blast list if you do not get your way). 

Once again, I am sorry that you did not like our responses or my response time.  However, that does not make us wrong or a bad agency.  That is you getting upset when you do not get what you want or your way.

My advice to you is open your own agency/company.  Then you can run things the way you want!

Larry Hess...if you can prove I sent nearly everyone at your company "hundreds of emails" then go ahead and do it! Oh wait, you can't without fabricating hundreds of fake emails because you just lied AGAIN and you're just making this an even easier case. Thank you for making yourself look bad all on your own for everyone in the world to see! I emailed you multiple times because: 1) You had time to respond to people's complaints about your agency on social media aka perform damage control by lying to people that you'll look into problems for them right away if they just email you. You repeatedly claim that I demanded for you to drop everything you were doing for me when you literally took it upon yourself to give people the false impression that you're such a helpful and caring company owner while ignoring my emails, until I exposed you. 2) You gave the lame excuse that you needed to wait for one of your employees to return from vacation when you should be able to investigate complaints on your own as the CEO of the company 3) You kept emailing me back and forth with nothing but lies I emailed you because your company advertised a higher pay rate for reasons that did not even follow your own company's policy. I broke down those reasons for you MANY times, but for some reason you still fail to comprehend written English in 2018. You just admitted that you and company offer people different pay rates for working the same jobs for the same client based on arbitrary reasons. You just dug your own grave. "And you do have instances of no shows/no calls in your history. That is a fact." You keep ignoring the fact that it's impossible for me to have no-called/no-showed an event when there is physical proof that I cancelled the event weeks in advance. You stating that I have instances of no shows/no calls in my history as if it's a "fact" in order to degrad in is a crime. You just dug yourself into an even deeper grave. Yes, you do have a 20 year track record. A 20 year track record of lying and then digging your own grave over and over again.

Lani May...or Lani Leong....whatever name you choose to go with these days.

We also have proof of your hundreds of emails to nearly everyone in our company.  Heck, you emailed me 10 times in a span of 20 minutes because you did not like the speed of our response time (when I told you it was going to take time to respond).

I am sorry you were not happy with our response, our response time (the world does not revolve around you) nor our willingness to offer you more money.  Just because you do not like our answers, does not make us a bad agency.

And you do have instances of no shows/no calls in your history.  That is a fact. 

We have been in business for 20 years.  Servicing hundreds of clients and thousands of staff.  Are we perfect?  Nah.  But we work hard to provide the best experience for everyone (clients and staff).  I think our track record of 20 years in business proves this statement.

As I stated in our private correspondence, I wish you best with all of your future endeavors.

Learn how to read English before attempting to go on an internet rampage again, Larry! Encore Nationwide posted on FB that they were hiring people to work other stores for the same activation I was booked for but at a higher pay rate than before. There is no shortage of workers living in those other areas & it wasn't a last-minute job, so it made no sense. I politely messaged the person asking if I could have the same pay rate they were now advertising. She never responded. I emailed another person from Encore. I waited days, but I never heard back. I emailed another person b/c time is money & if I chose to cancel I still wanted to give as much advanced notice as possible. Larry lied in his rebuttal claiming I sent "hundreds" of emails "in a rage" b/c they did not comply with my "demands." It takes less than 1 min for me to prove I never sent "hundreds" of emails to anyone at Encore. Also, I can prove my emails asking about the pay rate were nothing but professional. Larry is so far gone he thought it would be a smart move to also lie about me being a "no-call/no-show" too. How did I no-call/no-show an event I cancelled weeks in advance? I emailed Larry to find out why my profile was deactivated. Larry even admitted in one of his emails to me that the person who deactivated my profile was wrong for saying I was a no-call/no-show. I still have that email saved. Why would I have "begged" to work for his corrupt agency again after receiving so many abusive emails from him? There were multiple agencies on that database, so he was WRONG to assume I desperately wanted to have my profile reactivated just so I could work for Encore.

This review is without merit. 

 

This person is Lani May or Lani Leong

 

First, she accepts a promotion.  Then she decides that she wants more money to work the event.  We explain to her that we are unable to increase the rate and she goes on an email spree.  She proceeds to email everyone in my company multiple (hundreds) of times.  Demanding a higher rate.  Repeatedly she is told no, but she does not like this idea and then goes on a rant throughout the social sphere.

 

She also no-shows (no call/no show).  So we removed her from the database. 

 

She becomes belligerent and emails me personally multiple times begging to be allowed back into out the database.  Upon telling her that she is no longer allowed to work with us, she decides to exact her revenge through multiple negative reviews (here, complaints, FB, etc).
