The sales rep that showed up to do a free measurement was too pushy. I told her I wanted to get several quotes from different companies. She is an independent contractor for Empire with the showroom essentially in her car. For a 658 sq ft space she quoted me $8,000+ for luxury vinyl plank flooring, claiming that the original price would have been $12,000 but she gave all the discounts that she was allowed. Unfortunately, I signed the docs on her laptop and scheduled the installation. The next day I called to tell her it was too expensive. She said that she could eliminate a room to bring it down to $6,003 and I said OK. Now, I feel like I was taken for a ride and cancelled my order via telephone and email to the sales associate. The discount price she quoted me was most stores regular price. Didn't like the high pressure sales tactics she used and pressure to close the deal. Guess it's all about commissions.
