I've had the exact problem many others I've read about have had. We purchased an emachine computer from Circuit City during X-mas. It was eligible to receive rebates from emachine and Circuit City. A few weeks after submitting my forms I received my check from Circuit City, but it's been almost 3 months, and no check from emachines.

I've called and spoken to the rudest "customer service" people ever! They are no help and full of excuses! Initially, they claimed to never have received my rebate forms. I was told to fax all of the information in and they would get back to me. 2 days after hearing I needed to fax, I get a notice saying that my forms were postmarked more than 30 days after the purchase! I know this isn't true; I dropped them off at the Post Office no more than 2 weeks after the purchase! And which is it... if the forms never made it to them how can they have been postmarked more than 30 days later?!?!? I am now expected to wait up to 12 weeks to receive copies of the postmarked envelopes! I'm just eager to hear what the next excuse will be. Will they claim the envelopes are lost?? Will they realize I'm not going to drop it and say, "Oops, our mistake."

It's not about the money, but if this is happening to so many of us... just imagine the money they're making!! Both emachines and Circuit City should be held accountable. Circuit City uses their rebates in their ads, and draws people in based on these false promises made by emachines. How can a trusted company like Circuit City continue to offer these rebates when so many people have already been scammed by emachines?!?! If anyone wants to file a class action suit, please contact me! I'm mad as h**l!!!

If you reread the post she did not receive the money, she is waiting. The point is large corporations like to give people the run around, thinking we will just give up. Unfortunately most do. If she indeed filed the rebate in the 30 day notice--she should get her money. If she doesn't then maybe she should sue. To the original poster-been there done that. I now just don't even buy items with rebates. Not worth the time or trouble...Good luck to you.

What exactly are you going to sue CC for? "Your honor CC honored my rebate but I feel that I should get money from them anyway". Stop and think about what you are saying before you waste more of MY tax dollars with worthless lawsuits.
