I bought my computer 7 months ago and every problem I have had with it was not addressed by emachines so called warranty. they will only honor their warranty if you have a credit card. My monitor went up 29 days after I bought it. they would not send me another one{any parts they do send are not new but used or refurbished}unless I had a credit card. My latest problem is a clicking noise. I paid a computer repair person to come to my house to listen to it and thay said the hard drive was shot.I contacted emachines and they wanted a credit card number to send me a used one. I again stated to them I do not have one. they said they would send me a box to send my computer to them and they would fix it.yeah just what this piece of junk needs is to get beatup in the mail a few times. I explained I am capable of installing a hard drive if they sent one with a return postage for sending back the faulty one. they said no. they are rude and not knowledgable about computers and will do anything they can to not honor their warranty. they are worthless.

Why can't you remove & send your failingHD to eMachines?

After you burn everything on your HD onto a backup CD or DVD for transfer to the replacement HD, of course.... Then eMachines should send your replacement HD... no? Why is this too hard? If the HD is failing now, what are your other options? Wait until your HD self-destructs and takes your information and software with it? I had to get replacement parts from DELL years ago and they also wanted a CC and this was because they did not know me! If someone you didn't know called you up and asked you to send them something valuable without any financial protections for you, would you send the item? And if you sent similarly valuable items to many people and all recepiants then ripped you off, it could cause you to fall into bankruptcy, couldn't it?
