Chicago,#2Consumer Comment

I own a TV/VCR Repair shop for over seven years and never had a complaint filed with any agency. Here in Chicago as well as other cities a consumer can contact their Consumer Affairs Dept. and file a complaint. By going to the Consumer Affairs they will check out your complaint and get back to you in a reasonable lenghth of time, usually, two or three weeks. Another possibility is check with the licensing division that licenses business in your town or city, they can help you out as a general rule. You should never leave any shop without testing out the unit before you leave the shop. Also, if you paid by credit card you can call your credit card issuer and possibly have the charges reversed. If a compnay gets to many "charge back"s they will drop the business altogether. They don't want the hassle. Regarding the complaint it sounds as if the heads may have been dirty which is usually $15.00 to $25.00 charge depending on your location. I hope this helps.
