I work for a small appliance dealer and we had a similar situation not to long ago. A freezer had went down on one of our customers. We quickly sent a service technician to service it. The technician found an obstruction in the sealed system. This is an unrepairable problem. We contacted Frigidaire and after some moaning and groaning Frigidaire agreed to replace the unit. The only thing we could not get covered was our time and materials. I am still fighting with them on the food spoilage warranty. My suggestion is you deal locally, be loyal and your dealer will be loyal to you.

thid three yr old freezer was declared unrepairable by their serviceman as had sealed syatem (freon leak inside walls) and the product warrenty stated this condition would be repaired or replaced by company at no cost to owner whenever sealed system failed. They made us take a replacement offer of 60% replacement cost of another freezer telling us both by letter % phone to take offer within 30 days of letter date or we would get nothing. We we forced to borrow the money and get a lesser quality freezer as felt we would lose all. The replacement freezer that went bad would have cost us 567.00 plus tax, delivery etc for total of 623.00. We bought one that was 447 + tax & delivery and received a check for 254.00 no taz or other compnsentation. I feel they owe us the difference to what right replacement would have been . To a senior at poverty level this is a lot of money.. Please get my money difference if can ...Gene [email protected]
