Ripoffreport Report Image

On May 3rd 2003 my daughter was found deceased at El Cajon Lodge at 0845hours. Detective Kevin Gunn was assigned to the case. After reading the Autopsy and Toxicology report they rule my daughter's death as a suicide.

In the Report it is evident of various discrepenices in statement. He was my deceased daughter partner. He rented the motel for a few days. He stated that he had not seen my daughter for "about a day and a Half". The next paragraph reported he was in the motel room at 5:15pm on May 2, 2003. He told the maid that my daughter was very sick and told her to do not disturb her.

After returning home to Nashville, TN, I spoke with a Diane who lived next door to room and she reported to me that "there was arguing at about 4:30 the morning of May 3rd."

Detective Gunn failed to report this to the Medical Examiner, and it was omitted from the report. my ex-husband has been doing his own investigating and had learned of a party going on in the room.

There are no statements of other witnesses, when the medical Examiner's arrived they stated the conditon of my daughter as being cool to the touch and in full rigor, which puts the time of her death approximently 8-36 hours earlier.

My daughter was mentally disabled and was currently under doctors care. My daughter left behind three beautiful children. Despite her disability Lisa was attending Grossmont College and earned her GED. Lisa's goal was to become a Vet, she had a great love for animals.

My daughter was robbed of $344.00 and most of her perscription medication inaddition she was also robbed of her CD player, which her father later recovered.

Detective Gunn disgraced her because of her past suicide attempts. My daugher was in possession of two bottles of klonpin each having 120 in each bottle. The Toxicology report found only 1 mg in her stomach.

Lisa has a family and husband that love her very much. My daughter lived on limited means from her SSI check. She was doing the best that she could to overcome and become independent. Lisa was a loving mother to her children and she wanted to return to school to provide a better way of life for her children.

Yes Lisa had many issues she delt with on a daily basis, but she learned from her mother to never give up, and she did just that. She did not kill herself.

Detective Gunn looked at past history, her location and outside situations and came to the concludion which he Stated "she was on meth." (another discrimination) According to the toxicology report they found just traces of various drugs, but according to the toxicolgy report it stated tha there was a large amount of various drugs. It does not take a rocket scienatist to find the many descripencies in the Medical report.

I took the reports to my personal doctor, and she stated Strongly that there was something very wrong with this report. According to the Tox. report She also stated that there was not enough in her system to kill oneself.

My Grandchildren are not going to grow up believing my daughter gave up on life, because she did not. I will spend every last penny I have to have my daughter's death certificate revised to an accidently overdose. And I will not stop until all persons involved are charged with negligent crimmal homicide.

I strongly believe that while my daughter lay there very sick and dying that persons in this motel are responsible for negligent crimmal homicide. The Detective also stated to me when I learned that was on parole I asked why wasn't he violated Detective Gunn stated " he suffered enough finding the body." I can only assume that the arguing going on in the wee hours of 5/03/2003 was what to do with her body.

The parties in the room had a duty as human beings to call 9-1-1. My daughter did not have to die and furthermore she did not have to die alone. All involved ran away like cowards and had the gull to come back and WALK to the office and call 911.

I will not stop until my daughter receives the justice owed to her. I am aware of a long road ahead of me, and many letters to write, but for just a moment put yourself in my shoes. El Cajon POlice Departent, the Medical Examiners and God willing President Bush will get just a taste of the police corruption going on. was mentally disabled but she did not let that stop her from living life to the best of her ability.

You may want to find a private attorney

Christine... I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to you and your family for this loss. My advice to you is to contact a lawyer. From what you describe, it seems as though there may have been elements warranting a deeper investigation than was conducted.

I did a quick bit of research and found that negligent homicide requires that the offender's acts actually be the cause of the victim's death, and is generally limited to cases involving firearms, explosives, vehicles, and medical malpractice. Generally, the "negligence" in "criminal negligence" refers to someone's failure to do or properly do something required of them due to a status, be it gun-owner, driver, doctor, etc. The ordinary man, who holds no statuses that require him to act in certain situations, is generally immune from prosecution for deciding not to save a life.

The investigating officer has probably determined that, regardless of whether people could have saved her and did not, your daughter died of a drug overdose by her own hands. Based on this, he has most likely assumed that no charges will result from his investigation, and that any further investigation will be wasted time.

If you feel as though there are people who should be held responsible for your daughter's death, if you feel as though there are facets to this case that warrant more attention than they've received, and if you think your daughter's death certificate is erroneous, your best bet will probably be to hire a private attorney. If this is a financial burden for you, I reccomend seeking out a local legal aid office, they may at least find someone who can make the process affordable.

Best of luck to you
