I recently made a purchase from eCost.com of an X2Gen 22" monitor to which they were advertising a rebate offer. Against my better judgement I bought the product and mailed in the rebate information. Really I should have taken a good look at the rebate terms before purchasing the product as they were obscure and ridiculous. Underline this, circle that, wait 10-16 weeks. Real nonsense, a legitimate company would simply try to verify your purchase of the product and issue a rebate based on that.

When I checked they said I hadn't included the UPC code, which was definitely stapled to the rebate form in the designated area, and hadn't circled the item on the invoice, of which there was only one item.

Companies are getting away with this crap consistently and it is very profitable., It's time to start boycotting these companies and these practices. eCost should not be promoting these practices and X2Gen seems to constantly be pulling this off. I've had trouble with PC Mall and X2Gen also. It's really time they were boycotted.

I had the same issue and filed a complaint with BBB and the attorney general of the state where all companies involved are located. If you need address information for evasive businesses BBB website is a good place to look up companies. The attorney general offices are taking these complaints seriously and the businesses involved are required to respond. Do not give up!! I got mine plus 50 extra dollars. Ed Ohio
