On December 8, 2007 Dish Network debited $220.20 out of our account without prior oral or written permission. I have contacted Dish Network several times in which they have repeatedly told my that the refund has been processed. My bank has never recieved anything from Dish Network other than the debit transaction.

I finally got in touch with a Kathy Welling in the Executive Teams Office tonight she stated that the refund had not been processed and said that she was contacting another department to get a tracking number, although she did state that she doubted that I would have my money back before Christmas.

How can Dish Network get away with account fraud? They are literally stealing peoples money and legally getting away with it. Where is the Judicial system for innocent people such as myself and thousand of others who have trusted such a business. The Attorney General's Office in North Carolina states that they have so many complaints against Dish Network that they have quit counting. They also said they only resolve about 50% of the complaints that are reported.

WOW! What happens to the other 50%? This company is not frightened at the threat of a LAWSUIT they just laugh it off. If only we could find a Attorney that would start up a Class Action Lawsuit against this company it might not stop them from there illegal actions but, it may just slow them down. Help I have been VIOLATED!

Mrsp, if you were an employee of Dish Network (comments in other threads indicate you are NOT), you would know that the policy for refunds is to first apply them to the next billing cycle. If there is still money on the account after said billing cycle, then the customer may request a refund of that balance. This is because refunds take time - so much so, that by the time you get your refund, you will be turning right around and paying it or will already have paid it.

you are more likely than not to ever receive your money or you will get it 'APPLIED" to your bill. they even screw over their employees...trust me.

You wrote a vague description of how echor start supposedly milked you aout of $220. I am asumming that you signed up for CCA (credit card autodraft). Whatever the reason if you where issued a refund on Dec. 8th, it can take up to 1 month to process your refund. Echostar doen't just take your money anytime they feel like it. If it was set to draft and you were behind on the bill it will take out the full amount. We make every attempt to refund customerd as quickly as possible. For whatever reason I am sorry this had to happened to you at this time, I know what its is like to be without.
