E-loan will not remove a late payment on our credit report even though we were never made aware that we owed it.We refinanced this loan and it turned out there was $67.00 that was still owed. No one called or made us aware we owed this.

Finally someone from their company calls about 2 monthes later to tell us we owe this and then we pay it promptly because now WE KNOW and they put a negative remark on our credit. When I tried explaining this to them they were rude and did not care if it makes our credit look bad or not!

I feel it was their lazy negligence that should be a negative mark on them, not ruining our credit, which we have worked very hard to look decent.

If a person paid a debt every month on time for the whole duration of the loan and then decided to refinance this debt and some type of interest or fees(?) accrued between the time the new financer sent the balance owing which resulted in a negative entry , how does this mean that this person was taught by crappy parents? Eloan could have been nice and not reported it to the credit bureau knowing that these people were good customers and maybe they were unaware of this remaining balance which was not stated in the final payoff amount. This person did exactly what they were supposed to but I guess they needed to be psychic as well regarding this loan. I will definately not raise my kids to believe that corporations are supreme beings that have to not answer to the decisions they make on this Earth. You can't take it with you and as a consumer ,at least for now, I have the choice as to shop where I am treated with respect.

I would like to somehow notify the world that lenders are not responsible for reminding you that you owe a debt. If you do not pay on time, negative credit reports will be made. Just as positive reports are made for each month that you pay your bills on time. The FCRA is black and white. There are no grey areas pertaining to forgetfulness or your overwhelmingly busy life. There isn't even anything to stop/change reports for people with terrible circumstances including illness and death. America, PLEASE start taking responsibility for yourself! You're raising children to think that everything in life should be handed to them and when they don't get their way, they feel "discriminated against".

Check out the Fair Credit Reporting Act, if there is an error, you have the right to have it corrected. Additionally, if you write the "big three" and dispute the report, they have to investigate and in the mean time remove it from your credit report. If the error has caused you some kind of damage, see a good consumer lawyer for they know that they can get attorney's fees from the law suit.
