BEWARE!!! This was The WORST experience I ever had with a mover!  The forman put all his weight on my irreplaceable Formica Modernica Table and BROKE it.  THey complained throughout the whole move how Kay, the organizer, didn't know what she was doing and they threw my boxes around when I wasn't looking as my mother was sitting in a car on the street, which they didn't know, while they packed the truck.

Most of all my contract clearly states they should crate my furniture and handle it with the greatest of care.  AND they told me my belongings were covered should anything happen.  Well it DID happen but when I put in my claim I got a letter going back saying I would only get $76 back because it is decided by weight, not value!!

Leore, an owner, was at least patient and understanding, he told me he'd get back to me because he understood my frustration with their offer of $200.

GUY, on the other hand could not take the heat, as I certainly was fuming, he yelled back and tried to fight with me about my being upset instead of the issue.  Either he was trying to trick me into thinking my being upset was unjustified and thus I would be distracted or he's just plain stupid (either was he's an unscrupulous [piece of garbage).  In this economy and climate, you'd think a business owner would try harder to not piss off customers.

I curse this business and I suggest you seek another company or man-with-van to move your stuff as these guys are BAD KARMA!!

BTW, typically...Guy LIES in his response to me here.  It was NOT $250. They offered $200 and, "not  1 penny more". Also, "20 miles"?, the move was from Washington Heights by the GW Bridge to Williamsburg, Brooklyn. So, there ya go...again, LIAR!  Pathetic.

I Brought these sheisters to small claims court. Waiting for the Arbitrators decision.  Guy, an owner is nothing short of an arrogant slob!  In front of the Arbitrator he asked me where the table is now, I tell him in my home, he says to the Arbitrator, "see, still functional".  he just doesn't GET it!  I will NEVER again bargain shop to move and I want everyone else to beware of Dumbo Moving!

OF course Dumbo Moving is going to defend themselves and deny their blunder, I would not think otherwise.  I presented the Arbitrator with ALL the evidence, photos of the damage, an email from a specialized repair man who fixes Modern furniture (ie; Laminate) and most importantly a letter from Modernica in California stating:

"The damaged table shown in your images is a Modernica Impala Dining Table with a black fiberglass top & black steel legs.  This table was based on furniture made by Shelby-Williams manufacturing in the 1950's.

We have not made this table since 2001.  At that time, the price was $800.00.

There is no way to fix the damaged table top shown in your photos.  Similarly, we cannot replace the table.

In our 20 years of manufacturing high quality Mid-Century Modern replica furniture, products have come and gone.  I hear that there is a market on Ebay for our earlier products, but we do not follow it.

I'm sorry for your loss, and hope to work with you again in the future."

This email basically states the Table is irreplaceable.  How much is irreplaceable? Of COURSE Dumbo moving DAMAGED the table, that's Absurd and disgustingly LOW to insinuate otherwise.

How much I paid for the move is irrelevant and anyone considering using Dumbo can make up their own minds as to whether they choose to risk subpar service for price.  As I stated above, I called them MANY times to say I'd pay more and go elsewhere if they felt they could not handle this job, I trusted they would take good care of my items, but they did not...everything I stated in my 1st posting was 100% true and accurate.

I learned something valuable and can share it with you all, NEVER USE AN ARBITRATOR!   NOT TO MENTION SHE (ewwww) shamelessly flirted with the skinny bald guy from Dumbo who came in to represent his company. I guess, some people are desperate.  Also, what's up with them using a sexualized picture of a mover?

Ethics tell it all....

Oh an BTW, When they offered me 200, I was insulted, anyone would be, I asked them to negotiate more money, I expected $800 from the insurance company, as they stated verbally insurance covers almost 100% of damage loss. They Lied, bottom line. I stand firm, they are liars/shiesters.

it's up to you the reader whether you want to use them or not....I've already lost out.
