Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I had some issues with credit but needed a vehicle to get to a new job.  The only place I could find that would finance a car for me was DriveTime.  They said one of the benefits of buying a car with them was to repair my credit.  I purchases a Ford Ranger from them at almost 3 times it's bulebook value.  The loan percentage rate was 24%!  I paid every payment on time and in full.  I paid the loan off with a perfect payment history in February 2014.  Drivetime nver reported  my payment history to the crefit bureaus.  They were engaged in harassing their unpaid customers by reporting negatively to the bureaus multiple times and ruining their credit!  They were subject to a class action suit, and as part of the settlement werr forced to wipe all histories from the credit bureaus.  Furthermore they are not allowed to report on credit for any loans prior to October 2014, whether they were paid in full or defaulted on!

First off, please tell us the court venue for this alledged C/A!  Beyond that, the FACTS in your case, as per your own admission, are if the price is too high or the APR is not to your liking, the smart consumer reads the contract BEFORE signing and if that smart consumer doesn't like the terms, they don't go thru with the deal!  Your APR was/is high because this dealership is a SUBPRIME dealership.  It was YOU who destroyed YOUR OWN credit and as such, you aren't ENTITLED to a lower bank rate because YOU made yourself a high risk borrower.  Finally, those poor, oppressed people who defaulted on their contract and made late payments or had their car repo'ed did it to themselves, just like you did.  They ruined their own credit, NOT the dealership.  If the deadbeat's payment history is accurate, then it has a right to be on the credit report.  If they don't want negative information reported, very, very simple remedy...pay your bills on time, everytime!  Oh yes, a merchant is not required under the law to report anything.

Let me save you some effort...don't bother claiming, "you must work for them" because you don't like hearing the truth.  I don't work for them!

Too long didn't read eh? I'll straighten you out right quick.

I realized my mistakes in life got me here and I was willing to do what was necesarry to resolve those issues.  I accepted that I was going to pay too much for a vehicle at a high percentage for the loan with the expectation that in return I would get my PERFECT PAYMENT HISTORY associated with my credit report, as was advertised.  I paid every single payment on time in full.  I paid off the nearly $3000 balance in one lump sum so as to avoid paying an inordinate amount of interest.  I fulfilled my end of the bargain, but I did not get the value that was promised from taking on such a risky loan.

Drivetime advertises credit repair as one of the benefits of working with them, or did you miss that detail?

If you don't work for them why are you bothering to comment with a boiler plate message that seems targetted at a delinquent and/or reposessed customer.  To the contrary, I was an excellent customer that always paid on time.  Now all I have to show for my perfact payment history is a beat old truck with barely any trade in value.  What I deserve is to have my auto loan show as PAID and always on time on my credit history.
