Drivetime - Ugly Duckling ripoff told me an amt due that I paid, only later to add more charges that I was never told about Dallas Texas
I had got behind on my payments because the car needed expensive repairs (ex: head gaskets) and when I called Drivetime they told me that they would work with me to get me back on track. All I had to do was send receipts of repairs and resign contracts. I said "That would be great!" I was told to pay a certain amount which would get me somewhat up to date and that he would defer the next three payments. I paid the amount and he confirmed that the deferment went through and that I was all caught up.
So, I start over making my payments thinking that I am all current. When to my surprise I get a phone call stating that I am still delinquent, and when was I going to get current. I explained to the lady (the supervisor) everything that I had been told and she said that she did not care because that was still the amount due. She told me that, I was only told that I was current so that way my bill would not be as delinquent as it was. So I asked "Why was I lied to?" She said that I was not lied to and still asked when I was going to pay the amount due. I tried to talk with her manager and she said that he was not available and would not give me the name a manager.
She said that they would come pick up my car if I did not pay this amount. What I do not understand is how they figure that they can lie to their customers? If they lie amount this what other kind of lies are they telling us the customers about their cars?
