Complaint Review: DMZ Services - Scarborough Ontario

Contracted DMZ services, Danzil Miler to renovate my rental property and make the basement legal for purposes to be registered with the city of Oshawa. I wanted everything to code and everything to pass inspection and Denzil guaranteed everything will pass inspection. Hiring Danzil Miler (DMZ SERVICES) was a HUGE MISTAKE and had to hire other contractors to fix his mess. Which included FULL-TIER DOWN AND TOTAL REDO ON MANY JOBS, WHICH WAS VERY COSTLY AND GAVE US MANY SLEEPLESS NIGHTS.

1. Danzil Miler, DMZ SERVICES framing was off centered and had to be torn down and redone
2. Danzil Miler, DMZ SERVICES tile cuts looked like it was done by a four-year-old
3. Danzil Miler, DMZ SERVICES refinished my living room floor and left numerous grooves/cuts in the floor and picked the stain colour without my input.
4. Danzil Miler, DMZ SERVICES poorly refinished my stairs, picked the stain without my approval and proceeded to walk all over the floor and stairs
5. Danzil Miler, DMZ SERVICES spread drywall dust through the house, which not only destroyed the newly finish floors & 
   
   stairs, but the drywall dust hardened around each wood floor, glowing white in the background of dark-wood
6. It will cost me thousand, I have 4 level of floors of hardwood including the basement all floors are damage & with hardened drywall dust wrapped around each wood plank

8. Danzil Miler, DMZ SERVICES overloaded the electrical panel
9. Danzil Miler, DMZ SERVICES plumbing was so badly done. The plumber stated it looked like it was done by a shoe maker and more likely he viewed a Utube video, thinking that can make him a plumber. He cut through main framing Joyce(s) that had to be repaired, there was zero venting, which would have pulled fowl gas smells, which would of permeate throughout the house. There were numbers leaks, which would have caused massive fungus growth throughout the walls which would of cause major health issues.  Plus, would of cost thousands to remove and the contractors would be in protective work-ware with mask to protect themselves from the fungus. This process cost thousand plus the additional thousands it would be in repairs and damages, a nightmare scenario
10. Danzil Miler, DMZ SERVICES never returned/stole my house key, which turned into a security problem had to purchase and install new locks, which cost plenty. I ordered and replaced all new windows for the whole house. On many occasions Danzil never showed up in the morning and his laborer manage to push his way through locked windows to enter my house. The original windows clearly were a security pitfall and his laborer demonstrated he can get into my home through the old windows. After full installation of all the windows, I hired a security company to secure an alarm system
11. Danzil Miler, DMZ SERVICES pace was painstakingly slow, many times not working with all kinds of excuses, from helper(s) not wanting to work for him or immigration expulsion of helper from country. Revolving door of 4 helpers, today here tomorrow gone
12. I had to give his worker the garage code, because Danzil Miler on numerous occasions came in the afternoon, neighbors would have called police because they were breaking into house through the windows
13. My wife requested a soaker tubs for the two washroom Danzil purchased one non-soaker. Told him to return and get two soakers. He never did, he installed the non-soaker and purchased one other soaker tub. He stated he could not return because packaging was opened & he was stuck with it, so he installed it
14. Danzil Miler, DMZ SERVICES recommended the latest fire, smoke, carbon, strobe, talking carbon monoxide alarm detector. He stated it will guarantee the basement pass inspection by Oshawa City hall, which was false. Within a week the units started to fail, it seems the battery and unit is one piece and within a week it needed to be replaced and they are pricy($160.00) each for 6 units. He never changed them & I strongly believed the units installed were used, the battery shelf life is supposedly for 10 years and he charges me full price plus.  
15. Caught up to the person that Danzil hired to refinish the floor. He lives in Woodbridge, at xxx Wardlaw place, He stated he warned Danzil about all the sanding and drywall dust that would have a devastation destructive effect on the newly finished floors and stairs. He also mentioned he strongly recommended to Danzil Miler to cover all the floors and especially don’t walk and trample over the newly finished floors and stairs.  He responded by saying the guy just ignored me.  All the floors was in very poor shape and now all floors and stairs on four level has to be redone, because the drywall dust has wrapped around each plank and now has hardened, glowing white in the background of dark floors. 
16. Danzil kept coming up with new stuff.  Told him to put on paper and add propose cost and show all associated cost on paper, he sent me 4 or 5 different proposals. After reviewing and comparing each proposal I noticed the original charge for the windows and doors creeped up to $11,000 dollars more, each invoice there were increase on door and windows and other stuff. This was all a scheme to try to increase cost on approved work and I challenged him, and he claimed I was mistaken and we reviewed each invoice and he changed his response to typos. He clearly tried to rip me off. I hired a door and window installer to cut out and installed new basement windows and side door & these guys were professionals. They came one day and concluded it the next morning only because it was storming the day before. Plus, they charged me thousands less

Danzil Miler, DMZ Services, was a nightmare to deal with. Paid him over $36,000 dollars and I had to hire 4 other contractors to redo his garbage job.  Don’t make the same mistake that I did, find serious professionals
