They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report: Their email: [email protected] Their name: angela Their relationship to the company: Supporter Rebuttal: I use to work for dishnetwork for 2 years. I am sorry to hear some stories about the recivers not working. But one story caught my eye. a lady in texas.. She was not satisfied with the programming and cancelled her programming. And was charged back with cancellation fee(240.00) and equipment fee(398.00.. Well the deal is that if you have had to sign a contract for 1 year with the digital home plan where you rent the equipment for 1 year. If she did sign the contract. On the contract it clearly states if contracted is violated there will be a cancellation fee of $240.00 and the equipment is not returned there will an additional $398.00. That is why they ask you for your credit card# upon activation. They have had too many customers cancel and take off with the equipment. But anyhow, since she did return the equipment that point the $398.00 is returned and But unfortuantly your pretty s**t out of luck with the $240.00 cancellation fee. If you clearly did not sign any contract when you went to the local dealer when you first got the dish($49.00 activation fee)or were suppose to be setup on a different promotion then you are entitled to your full refund of $240.00.. I have dealt with many consumers like her. But the customer was not aware of the contract they signed they are unfortuantly locked legally into this contract. I would advise for everyone to read his/her contract before signing. Angela..Tx Ex-Employee
