I had Dish Network service installed on 8/31/12. The installer broke my flat screen tv & stole my old Directv dish & box. He kept cussing in front of my kids & finally I just told him to get done and leave. He told me to sign his form saying that he installed the equipment. Later I found out this was a contract. Right after he left, I contacted Dish & told them about the installer. I told them I was so unhappy that I just wanted to cancel the service & file a complaint. I filed a complaint with headquarters through email about the incident and the installer.

I then filed a claim for damages and was told someone would contact me. On 9/4 I received a call from Mark about the claim. He told me he would talk with installer & his supervisor & let me know something. I called him back a couple of times & he never returned my call. I found out on 10/26 that Dish had charged my Credit Card connected to my bank account $420 for an early cancellation fee. I was shocked. I called them numerous times to try & resolve this. I was transferred back to claims & found out my claim didn't include the broke tv.

They made another claim for that. I called Dish back because I wanted to speak with them about the $420 fee. They gave me the run around for a long time. Finally I was connected to the executive team. I spoke with Marcie and she told me that I would have to speak to her supervisor, Ashley. She transferred me but I was connected to voicemail.  I called the executive team back and spoke to Terrance. He told me that Ashley was the only supervisor working and I needed to leave her a message because she was busy.

I never heard back from Ashley. On 10/27, Erik Henderson a Field Service Manager from Dish came out to my house to take pictures of the damage to tv and install. He told me I would hear back from them about the claim. I called back on 10/29 & spoke to Bianca. She told me she was sorry but I was responsible for the $420 & there was nothing she could do. So, now Im out $420 for cancellation fee & the money for the stolen equipment & broke tv.

I dont feel like I owe the $420 because the installer led me to believe that the computerized form I signed was for him installing the equipment and leaving it at my house (I have this paperwork). The installer also stole my other equipment and I had to repurchase that to have Directv reconnected. He also broke my tv and I am unable to use it now to watch tv in my room until I purchase a new one.
