Complaint Review: Discover You Tour - Internet

SCAM ALERT!! The Discover You Tour is a SCAM being run by the Waldbueser family. They also run Model and Talent Inc in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They conduct mall fashion shows around the United States and give out "modeling contracts". They charge for photos and for the printing of your model cards, but the contracts are FAKE and are "mailed" to you. No studio visits, no office meetings, no personal phones, no email contact, NOTHING! They only want your money and people will give it to them because they think that the modeling contract that they are given is real. It's a SCAM!

To better understand, I will write this in chronological order. 

-In January 2016 at the Coastland Center Mall in Naples, Florida, Model and Talent INC. had sign up booths placed around the mall which you could fill out for a chance to audition for their Mall Fashion show. Not knowing any better, I signed up my daughter. 

-1 to 2 weeks later, I received a text message from a woman indicating that they were interested in my daughter auditioning for their fashion show. The women asked that I bring my daughter at a certain date and time.

-Audition day, mid-February 2016. The food court at our mall had a huge stage and runway set up with a photobooth on the side. I met with the woman who sent me the text (Later identified as Grace Waldbueser) and then met with a blonde woman (later identified as Ashley Waldbueser). There was a man there with a camera and directing others prior to the audition to practice on the runway. (He was later identified as Doug Waldbueser. Ashley and Doug are married and have 3 children. Grace is Doug's sister. THEY ARE ALL FAMILY! RED FLAG!) Ashley stated that they were going to be grading my daughter on several categories including confidence, smile, look, etc. My daughter auditioned with several other kids and teenagers. After it was over, they indicated that my daughter passed and they invited her back to participate in the Fashion Show. They said that during the fashion show, they will be choosing the best candidates and offer some professional and amateur modeling contracts. After that audition, Doug took photos of Raelyn in their little photobooth. Ashley said that they were offering the photos on a CD disk for $150. Again, not knowing any different, I purchased the CD. They said that they would have the CD for me at the time of the fashion show. For the fashion show, they give you a shirt to wear. It's a white t-shirt that says "Keep Calm and Model On". They tell you to modify it into anything that stands out. Color it, dye it, bedazzle it, anything that stands out and gets you noticed.

-End of February 2016, fashion show time. The mall was packed! SO many children, teenagers and adults were at this audition, it was insane. We waited in line to see Ashley and got our CD of pictures along with a number badge for my daughter. We also were asked to write on a large white envelope our name and home address (RED FLAG!!!). Roughly 90 minutes later for less than 30 seconds, my daughter walked on their runway. We turned in our badge and we were told that they would be notifying the winners via mail. That was it. So we left. I felt that it was such a waste of time for absolutely nothing. I didn't expect to hear anything after that.

-Mid-March 2016. I surprisingly received that large white envelope in the mail, the original one that I wrote my address on. In the envelope were documents, including a letter that stated my daughter won a "One Year Amateur Model & Talent Contract with Model and Talent Inc. Agency". It stated that I had 45 days to sign and mail in my contract. Again, not knowing any better, I got excited and was happy that my daughter won a contract. Also in the envelope were a Modeling Contract Handbook, the State Finals Evaluation from the fashion show, a brochure for Ink Professional Printing (www.PrintWithInk.com) and examples of a headshot resume card and model comp card. The contract was standard and seemed legit. It stated that we needed to get these cards printed and the contract turned back in in 45 days. That night, I went onto PrintWithInk.com and purchased the Package 2 (Model's Variety Pack), 50 Color Cards (5" x 7"), 50 Black & White Cards (8" x 10"), 50 Model ID Cards (2.5" x 5") for $165. When I received my cards about 1 week later, I was a little disappointed at the quality of the cards. They were very poor. I sent them high definition photos and the cards looked like they had low resolution photos printed on them. But because I wanted to make that 45 day contract deadline, I took the required amount, 20 resume cards and 20 casting cards, along with the contract and mailed it to their booking department.

-End of April 2016 - I finally received an email indicating that my account was now activated and that I could log on to their site and submit to castings myself. Their password is: getjobs. I logged on their and discovered that the castings they were providing were public information and not necessary to be password protected.

-May 2016 - This was when I started getting very suspicious. I had some portraits taken of my daughter. The photographer asked me if my daughter was being represented by an agency and I told him yes. I explain to him about the fashion show and Model and Talent Inc and he immediately stopped me. He logged onto a few sites on his iPad and showed me what I suspected the whole time but was too ignorant to know any better. (It later dawned on me that EVERYONE who was at the fashion show had filled out their address on a large white envelope. I could only assume that everyone who was there also received a so-called modeling contract. I mean come one, it was "mailed".) Also, I was never invited to their corporate offices, in fact, I never met with anyone regarding the contract or spoke to anyone on the phone.)

This whole operation is NOTHING BUT A SCAM!!!!!!  I will show you below how everything is connected. Everything I found below was PUBLIC INFORMATION and easily found on the Internet:

The corporate staff page lists the entire family and some others: Doug Waldbueser, Ashley Waldbueser, Grace Waldbueser, April Waldbueser , Lance Waldbueser , Danielle Waldbueser , Bill Waldbueser, Carolyn Waldbueser, Lisa Oats, Johnny Oats. Very suspicious!

I only made 2 payments with these people

First one was for the pictures in February 2016 from Model and Talent INC at the Fashion Show: $150.

I looked on my bank statement and found this:

It was charged to a DIRECTLY TO A CONDO, NOT A BUSINESS!

The second charge was with www.printwithink.com for the resume and casting cards for $165.

I paid with PayPal.

I couldn't locate any further information than the above.

If you're not convinced that the Waldbueser family are nothing but "Scam Artists", then I don't know what else to say.

DO NOT PARTICIPATE OR GIVE MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE OR THESE COMPANIES. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!! A lot of information can be found simply by conducting a Google search.
