Discount Electronics Indeed a Rip Off Austin Texas
This is indeed a report of a total rip off! I went to Discount Electronics in S/W Austin, Tx., located at 9711 Manchaca Rd. to
have my computer cleaned of Malware. Discount kept my computer almost (4) days, deleted one of my Browsers and charged me $58.00 to remove Malware! I found our that they ran Malware Bytes , a free program, to destroy the Malware!
I reported them to the BBB here in Austin, Tx., and when the BBB contacted Discount Electronice, they lied and said they had
"gone over all the problems with my computer"! This was an out and out lie! Not one person took the time to do this nor did they tell me my computer would be there almost (4) days for a simple job that should not take more that a few minutes to accomplish with the Malware program that they used! I asked for a partial refund and Discount Electronics refused my request through the BBB. I am making a trues statement that Discount Electronics at 9711 Manchaca Rd. in S/W Austin, Tx. is not a business I would suggest anyone do business with!
They have Dell computers that have been "refurbished" for "resale" but when you go to Dell's web site they tell you that there are no updates for your drivers and their records show the PC is "out of date" for their records. All in all within a few months to a year you have an outdated computer and will need to hire a programmer if this will help, otherwise you will have to go to a legitimate computer dealer for a new computer that you can update when needeed. Comsumers, 'beware of Discount Electronics", choose a legitimate dealer, one who has a good reputation with customers. Their computers are warrantied for 1 year and their merchandise they sell for 90 days! It seems to me a legitimat dealer would refund a customers money if there is a problem without hesitation, that is if they are honest!! Remember, buyers beware of Discount Electronics!!! Thank you
