After several phone calls to Direct TV, speaking to several agents a total of 3 hours over 2 days I finally found out they charged me $180. for an early cancellation fee even though I had a 1 year contract and had the service for 2 l1/2 years. They told me it was because they had to replace one of their pieces of equipment that stopped working 5 months ago so they said they started a new contract. This without any notice and without my approval. Then it took 2 days to finally find out where to take the equipment. No one would tell me. They kept saying I would get info in the mail which I never did. Here's the clincher....their final bill says they will charge me for not returning the equipment promptly. Terrible company with fraudulent p0ractices. I have sent a complaint to their Disp0ute Department at AT& T in Dallas. Thank you.
