DH's Rosewood Farm Llc Very poor care of horses Kalamazoo Michigan
Worst place around to board your equines. Multiple times I have personally found horses with no water in pastures or dirty slimmy water buckets in their stalls. This has happened more then once. My horses were brought here in great condition and started losing weight quick. Horses are under fed on a regular basis. Many times I had come out before noon. To check my horses and could not find a trace of hay in their pen. Horses were turned out if they were by 10 am. No excuse as to why they had no hay outside or why the water buckets weren't clean and filled with fresh water. (Take a look for yourself) There are no shelters in any of the pastures and horses will still be turned out in the worst of weather forcing them to stand in the elements. The manager has no other employees and instead pushes her responsibility's onto her boarders.(feeding,watering,turning in or out horses) She does not quarantine new horses and bought herself a horse form a auction and got the whole barn sick. A majority of the horses there are under weight. The only horses that look decent are her own. She also keeps her horses in the best pens she has which is also the only ones with grass. It is just a matter of time before her improper feeding starts causing problems for the horses in her care. She does not fully clean the stalls if she chooses to do so. Pastures also have many standing poop piles that never get picked up. She will cram 3-4 horses in small pens when her own horses are turned out by alone or with one other horse. Barn always smells like urine and the indoor arena footing is horrible. Horses have fallen in the arena on occasion and she still has done nothing to improve the footing. Almost every time I had arrived she was stitting on her phone or goofing around with her friends. She will give you every excuse in the book when you try to bring up any of your concerns with her. She is biting off more then she can handle. There are many good facilities in the area that take great care of the horses and are very horse health knowledgeable. I would not recommend the facility to anyone. Seeing this place for yourself will open your eyes.
