DHI is ripping every individual off here in Afghanistan. They claim to provide a service in which they have not lived up to. This have been going on for year. Let me give an example. They have package services, one is (up to 5mb) $159.00. The second is (up to 7MB) $239.00. Mind you neither one ever reaches the up to amount nor do you even get to 1mb. For the prices that we pay the network is unstable always has packet loss and they always say we are sorry, the cause is from our upstream provider. That upstream provider is a LN (Local National) that resides in Afghanistan. Every 2 to 3 days the network has packet loss. I ask how can they fix this and they always say its out of there control. For the amount of money they charge its such a ripoff. They are a Monopoly out here in Afghanistan due to the fact they are the only one. This is not right they are ripping off contractors and soldiers. I have zero respect for a company that is suspose to provide a service to hardship tours, and the service is not up to par. Imagine how much they make off of us, you trying to tell me they can not find a better solution.

So today DHI came and disconnected my line due to my attitude towards customer service. Makes you wonder why that is. So they think they have silenced me but they only added fuel to this fire. The service is terrible. The prices is rediculous and somone has got to step in.

DHI Internet Service "Bentley Pricing - Snail Internet"

I am in parallel agreement with the overall claims regarding DHI Internet Service.  It's unfortunate DHI is the main internet provider at most sites in Afghanistan.  The two negative compliants from their customers are pricing and lagging internet speed.  I wish other providers could be available or some government agency open an audit on their system.

Military personnel and contractors have to pay triple the price for internet service (compared to stateside) which is slower than dial up internet.  In my opinion this should never happen.  I hope someone in the governmenet sector is alarmed for the troops and contractors.  It's time for fair pricing and decent internet speed!
