Complaint Review: CSRT TRUCKING - Riverside California

Before you think about attending any of the company sponsored truck driving schools, you should not only read this, but spend sometime and do your own research.

CRST recruites people all over the country to attend their driving schools and work for them, what they don't tell you is the whole picture. First of all do not come to California if you do not have or know someone here that you can use as a residents. Here's why: In California you have to be a resident is order to get your permit, if you do not know anyone in california that you can use for a address your trip has just been wasted.

CRST does not tell you the actual number of people they will hire. You do not find this out until you go to the driving school and you start doing your paperwork.So here's the numbers. If a class has 45 people in it 25 of them people will not get their CDL for what ever reasons. Background checks, drug test failures and just can't drive a truck. So half or almost half of the class will not make it through the school. The rest of the class that makes it, only 80 percent of them willl get hired.

Things you should know before you sign any contracts or get on a bus to attend one of their driving schools.

First of all they do not have their own truck driving school run by CRST, it is a private school that over books and disrespects people. You share a truck with 4 students... one student in the driver seat and 3 on a bench seat that is located inside the sleeper...I am not joking. During the summer time you will be miserable because there is no A/C in the trucks. One of the reasons why is, because it cost more in fule to run the trucks. If you attend the Advanced Driving School in Fontana enjoy your bus ride they overload it to the max to save the school money.

CRST does not give a crap about you, you will find that out the hard way. You do not have to take my word for any of this, go to Google and type CRST Complaints or CRST SCAMS. There is over 1,000 complaints about their company sponsored driving. Not to mention law suits. So if you don't do your home work, you might be going home with nothing. Also CRST does not feed you, you have a cafateria located at the CRST yard, but they charge you, so if you come their with empty pockets, you'll be straving unless you get a hand out from someone. Again I am not joking. In my class there was a quite of few people that came there with nothing. I can't afford to feed everyone, but I did go down to taco bell and come back with a bunch of tacos so people had something to eat.

I can go on and on about the whole process and all the disapointments, but I won't for sake of space. But I will offer you some advice. Trucking is not what it used to be,there is so many rules and laws you'll feel the oppression everywhere.If you still want to be a driver. Go find a reasonable school and pay for it on install ments.

If you really think about it, for what these trucking companies pay you for the first year you could make the same money or more driving a taxi, with a whole lot less head ache.
