Ad on craigslist for a boat ( Aqua sport) that was shown with pictures in full detail inside and out that was very low priced compared to Similar boats. Responded to the email listed, and got a response week later saying she was sorry but our email had gone to spam. She went on to say that she had bought another boat and didn’t have room to store this one so she had put it with a consignor called ATC and had put it on their lot. Then she said she would explain how that kind a company worked. She went on to say " go to the website ( which was listed )and work with them for payment”. Their website appeared like it was a large company with offices in New York California Florida, ect., and appeared completely legitimate; you were to send the money which was $15,480, Which they would hold in escrow and they would ship you the boat, and you then had seven days to accept it, at which time they would cash the check. Sounded too good to be true, so we looked into verification of the company. I am a mortgage loan underwriter and I am very familiar with fraud scams and how discovered many out of Miami Florida. Also the boat was listed at approximately half the price of similar boats on craigslist. We found someone who had been ripped off by the same individual and/or company for a camper losing $12,000. That was the only thing we found but are so glad we did.Their "website” had four star ratings; there wasn’t any listing in Google for the company however and we became very suspicious because we couldn’t find them listed anywhere with a third-party we kept trying to find anything we could about the company And then saw the listing on your website from the guy with the camper. We would’ve lost over $15,000 and never seen it again if we had sent it. We want this co or these people out of Business and in jail. Please let me know what I can do to help. I can forward the email I received from "Judy Rivenbach”.

Amazing how sophisticated the website appears. All the bullets indicating you should never pay directly to seller...always to these scammers. This particular scam has a different name but the same m.o. that contacted me. They use inexperience, greed(your greed) and too good to be true deals. Nothing worse than that moment of recognition that you've been HAD.
