Well here it is the beging of May and still no reply from cottman and still my trans is not fixed. Now we have gone to the next step and got a lawyer. Insted of them fixing the trans they want to add to the amount of what will be owed to us.. And as for the tranzmn, I've been a truck driver for ten years and I realy think I know how to drive a car or r.v. so as for drivers error you are wrong. And for this last time I was told by cottman to take the r.v. to botts. And as for the trans the r.v. was driving fine untill I stoped at a stop sign and then the r.v. wouldn't move so you tell me sir if thats driver error. I never asked you to get involved with this. I hope that everyone that is having problems with cottman will get what is owed to them. Now it will be up to the court's of Fl.

BADDD MISTAKE TOM Tom~~~~~I called and spoke to mike in St Pete~~~~~Tom,you sued the wrong person~~~~ Per cottman franchise agreement: #1 The original shop has a responsibility for the warranty for the first 90 days ~~~#2 The case was broken in Tenn. from the info it could have been another reason the case broke, driveshaft out of phase or bent, carrier bearing problems. Or driver error~~Yes Tom "driver error" the way this could have proven is if the fracture was diagonal to the engine it shows twisting force to overstress case until it failed. This happens when the park brake is applied "prior" to the rear wheels stopping since the park brake is part of the rear of the transmission,Mike an i discussed this an he had no info reguarding this possible situation. The person who said that it was the flywheel that caused this problem was wrong, unless the flywheel had a major failure and came through the case ~~the diagonal fracture would not be there only damage inline with the flywheels rotation. The other problem was botts truck repair,They wanted to charge 900.00 for 2-3 hours of r/r time way out of line !!! The type of transmission you have will take a caveman with a flat rock and a hammer maybe 1hr to remove since its all out in the open. These take me bout 1/2 hour to 40 mins with problems to get out.You have a 400thm trans with a 454 cubic inch engine.(300.00) for the r/r is very resonable, unless their labor rate is over 100 dollars per hour. (in Calif it is) As you know Carol was useless in this situation between the shops. (Cottman corporate) The real liability is with the last shop that worked on your transmission to straiten it out or diagnose it properly for any future failures. (if its with the transmission or something else?) The situation of money going back to the wrong shop or anything else is between them and corporate.Mike was willing to give back the original amount owed but at this point this sitation was a series of mistakes and unclear good diagnosis and greed by third parties.Tom you may also play a part also, you also have to be honest if you played a part in the case failure. If this happened this is on you and everyone else did their part~St pete would be out of this totally~~I don't know if the second failure lost the case again or it failed (slipped/shifted incorrectly or what) or if the culprit is in the driveshaft or something to do with it~~~This is on the 2nd shop to advise you on this, and it should be a new job, if the case was broken because of park brake apply~~again PROPER DIAGNOSIS may be lacking after the first failure to find the real liability ~~At this point this is the information i have and itz a mess~~~~THE TRANZMN

TOM~~~~~You have what you need after 20 days from the entry of judgement if the shop has not filed a motion to set aside judgement and a appeal. This cost the shop money they cannot get back. After that if this has not happened~~~~~You can have the shop owner served with an order of examination which gives you the info you need to collect the $$$ because you at this point can levy on the assets of the owner~~~~The best is to have the sheriff sit in his place for a few days~~(preferably thurs/fri) at this point "the sheriff" collects all reciepts for those days including the costs of collection.~~~~~~This can all be done by mail.~~~~~~It just takes time (months)~~~~Just keep goin Tom~~~~~THE TRANZMN By the way Tom~~~from the damage Initially/second time it sounds like the alignment dowels were not on the back of the engine block~~~have it checked out to find out if this problem is not still there~~~otherwise it will happen again~~~

The number of repair attempts and length of time must be limited. 2) Defects can result in accidents and injuries. 3) Defects can cause severe financial hardships and interfere with work and school. 4) Franchisors must assume responsibility for franchisees' defects. 5) I had an experience ... 6) I know someone who had an experience ... (I spent over $2000 at Cottman and original problem returned twice within a month. They never made good.)
