When I signed up for a credit report that I paid about 24 dollars for, they threw in a free credit monitoring service for free for 30 days as a bonus, insinuating that you didn't need to do anything after the 30 days were up to avoid being charged.

You had to go to an entirely different page to find that information which I found after the fact. So low and behold 30 days later I recieved an unathorized charge to my credit card for $79.00.

I went back to the website to read the fine print that said you needed to contact the website to cancel the monitor service before 30 days were up to avoid being charged.

One problem they do not tell you how to contact the website. They do not provide a consumer phone number to cancel the service so even if you found the hidden page with fine print you couldn't cancel it if you wanted to.

CIC Credit monitoring Rip me off by charging money to my account. After offering a FREE Credit Report. Then Charged my account 9.95 -Unauthorized. I called them and after arguing they said they would not take it off. I kept arguing so then they kept me on hold for a long time. When they came back they told me they would credit the 9.95 and cancel. I do not believe them. They are ripping people off and I suspect that alot of people give up and let them have the 9.95. Let's see 100 hits @ 9.95. Wow. They should be stopped. I suspect that the credit will not be applied.
