Here was an offer for a "Free Credit Report" online and in minutes sent via e-mail. So I filled it out thinking "great, I can get a copy of my credit report so I can see what everyone else has seen".
When I was done I promptly forgot about it. Then 3 months later I get a mysterious charge to my Visa account for an unexplained $79.95.
I called the bank and got a detailed transaction description including an 800 phone number. I tried the number and much to dismay a recording says that I have dialed a number that is not available from my calling area (138P), whatever that means.
Now I am not exactly the richest of people and I can't afford to spend almost $80 and not get anything for it.
Now I have shared my story to a) hopefully get some compensation and b) let everone else know that Consumerinfo.com is a SCAM!!!!
