Wow! Claude Castro Esq was suspended from practicing law in 2017 for strealing money from another client. In 1984, Claude Castro stole over $300,000 from my mother from a settlement with NY Magazine that he negotiated. A complaint was filed with the NY DA's office. But after he cried and begged my mother not to get him disbarred, she felt sorry for him and dropped the complaint. Castro then started giving my mother free legal services for years to repay her. I remember that day when I and my mother sat in his office at 444 Madison and confronted him with the settlement agreement. He admitted the theft and cried to my mother not to get him disbarred and that he would make it up to her.
Once a crook, always a crook.

If I remember correctly, the magazine was "The New Yorker” not NY Magazine. They wrote a false story about my mother and she sued them and they settled for over $300,000 with Castro. I called them about the lawsuit and they gave me a copy of the settlement agreement. That’s when we foundout Claude Castro stole all that money from us. He then started his own law firm and rented an office at 444 Madison Ave.
