CITY OF GARLAND TEXAS MOTTO "MAKE GARLAND BEAUTIFUL" IS A JOKE!
This is a severe injusted to people who want a beautiful neighborhood.
Where are our rights?:
In 1995 our neighbor constructed an attached storage building within 2 feet of our pool property. We went to the adjustment board, had an attorney. We were supposed to have a 6 foot
easment. The neighbor was not to build this ugly monstrosity next to our pool. We lost and the board scoffed at our lawyer.
In the past two years this neighbor constructed a front drive in which to store a large motorhome. No other home on our side of Peninsula Way has a drive. This drive has chopped up the architectural looks of the neighborhood. AGAINHe has devaluated our property! The other neighbors complain but nothing is done about it.
This neighbor also has an oversized extremely large red trailor parked on Peninsula Way. We complain to the city. Some times the city would come out and tell him to move it, but lately this trailor with all sorts of windows hanging off of it has been parked here for over a month.
The City of Garland just lets it go! It looks like Ringling Barnum & Bailey Circus out here! What was once a beautiful avenue is not chopped up. When one look up and down the avenue, all we see is that awful motorhome sticking out. It is terrible. I wish you could see how this neighbor has ruined our area and Garland stands by anything he does!
I will not get another lawyer! I got burnt in 1995. All I can do is report this to you in hopes that something can bedone. In the meantime, if you have any complainer about city code, tell
these people to move to GARLAND! THE CITY OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T BELIEVE IN ITS' MOTTO! CODES don't seem to apply to this neighbor!

They filed the following to the above Rip-Off Report: Their email: [email protected] Their name: Ben Juker Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion Rebuttal: One tactic that has limited success in situations like this is to call up the local newspaper and tv people and shame city hall by showing where they are screwing up. Usually, when faced with the prospect of unfavorable media attention, they will sometimes actually do what they are supposed to do. Make sure you call your local polititians and tell them what you are doing so the media can drag them into it when they do their story. Forget about talking to anyone else at city hall- they are just lemmings following a rule book when it serves their own purpose. The mayor or alderman (Or whoever) will tell them what to do when your story hits the air/paper. Don'y worry about not making freinds at city hall- you don't have any there anyway.
