Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Had this card for 18 months, when i was appraoching my "Graduation" date I called in to confirm, and was told it was in a few days. Then I called back in the next week and was told my card would have to be reviewed FOR ANOTHER 12 MONTHS.

Even though i had made all my payments (checked on CK) was told because i had gone over my limit a few times, but that shouldnt matter if all payments were made on time....SCAM avoid CITI cards they never graduate and they hold your deposit indeffinately. Way to scam your customers.

CITIBANK HAS MY MONEY

Citibank has my money and refuses to give me a debit card pertaining to my bank account. They also create ads on msn.com and other websites to make you think you can get a credit card, then when you apply, they deny you.

Citibank practices fraud and bait and switch practices. They yelled at me over the phone.

Now you let everyone know why you are with a Secured card. The fact that you think going over your limit is a not a bad thing, tells us all we need to know. Yes payment history is good, but so is keeping your credit within your limit.

If you talk to any respectable financial expert, one thing they will consistantly tell you is to NOT run your credit cards up to the limit..even if you pay them off every month. So not only did you run it up to..you ran the card over your credit limit.

In fact you really should not be using more than 30% of your credit limit as the more you go over that the more it will actually start to hurt you. Again..this is even if you pay it off every month. If your comeback to this is that it is impossible, then that continues to reinforce why you are with a secured card. You can't turn no or bad credit to good credit over night, it takes time. You need to have a consistant history of showing you can handle the credit issued to you. Just because they "give" you a credit limit doesn't mean you need to use it..even if you are securing the limit with your own funds. If you want to use the funds you deposited then just close the card, and use all the funds you want.

Oh and before you come up with the 101 other excuses. No, it does not matter how you got into this situation of having to use a secured card. No, it does not matter why you went over your credit limit. No, it does not matter what YOU think you should be entitled to. No, I do not work for this or any other bank.

What were the terms of the offer? Did you even bother to read them? What did it say about going above the limit? As is very typical, you don't read the terms, break the terms and when the consequences you caused come, they are a scam. This is where you can write back "you must work for them"!
