Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Over the years, I have bought thousands of dollars worth of equipment from Circuit City.

In March of 2004, I purchases a Verizon cellular telephone, on sale, from Circuit City. At that time, I also purchased an extended warranty plan, wherein my telephone would be replaced if and when it ever went bad. The sales clerk explicity said, "Your phone will be replaced, no questions asked." There was a witness to this transaction.

On the afternoon of December 16, 2005, the screen of my cellular phone stopped working. I went into a Circuit City store, where I was told that I had to go to a Verizon store to verify that that phone "went bad." I thereupon went to a Verizon Store on Rockville Pike, where they told me that I had to go back to Circuit City.

I returned to a Circuit City Store at 12017 Ashley Drive, just off of Rockville Pike in Rockville, Maryland. I went to the telephone counter where I learned that Circuit City had ceded its telephone sales to Verizon, who had a booth inside the store.

I went to the customer service counter, where I encountered an individual who barely spoke English who had not been trained, and in fact only been on the job a couple of days. I then asked to speak to the manager. The manager did not dain to lower himself to speak with an actual customer, and instead sent the halpless worker back to me with a customer service telephone to call.

Upon telephoning the number, I was informed that Circuit City no longer replaces phones, and that I would only receive a refund for the amount I paid for the phone, which was less than the warranty. I was told that Circuit City had just changed their policy two days before, on December 14th. Somehow, I imagine that no matter what date I arrived the warranty would have been changed two days prior to my problem.

I then again requested that I speak with the manager. He came over, and was extremely nasty. When I complained that my warranty was not being honored, he smirked and stated, "I guess you did not read the small print that we can alter the warranty anytime we want." This is the first time I have ever been in a store where the manager boasted that they could cheat the customers. His statements were made in front of a number of customers.

I then stated that What the hell good is there contract worth and what good is buying a warranty that costs more than the price of the product? He then got extremely huffy and threatening, and told me that cussing was against his religion, and he did not cussing in his store. Somehow in the paradox of being religious and boasting that the customers could be ripped off did not dawn on him.

I told him that I did not like being cheated, and that was exactly what was happening. He then started to yell that I was to leave his store and that I was banned for life.

I warn everyone never, ever, buy anything from Circuit City. They do not even have respect for their frequent customers.

Omesshio, What is your problem?? Here you are dissing another customer for just trying to have a warranty honored! They bought a phone, they bought a warranty. The employee told them to "COME BACK TO CIRCUIT CITY" for any issues (sound familiar?? hmmmm??). Then Circuit City left them high and dry when the phone failed. Typical BS from your company. Typical response from you. Your sick man! SICK! And where did this person in the original post rant about being "rich". All this person stated is that they had spent thousands there. Nothing more. Is this how Circuit City treats its regular return customers. This person made a simple point that they USED to be a regular customer. I guess that means nothing to you. This is another perfect example of how Circuit City dodges its warranty responsibilities. Hands down, this customer got the shaft! And just what is it in your post that "helped" this customer?? Good god man your vile! Now for the original post........ Its obvious that Circuit City has ditched you. I would file a small claims suit immeadiately. Demand the full price of the phone and warranty. Do not waver. Do not wait. The longer you let this go the longer Circuit City will fill its sandbags and prepare to defend itself under its bullshit "we can change the warranty at will" clause. If the money you are out is under $500, Circuit City will most likely cave in. Since the cost to pay a shmuck lawyer to show up in their defence will cost them far more for even a couple of hours of his time. Use that to your advantage. About the "we can change the warranty at any time"........ Im absolutely STUNNED that Circuit City has sunk so low. A contract is worth absolutely NOTHING with terms like that. This should be a warning to all, NEVER to purchase such an agreement. If Circuit City is allowed to change at will the terms of an agreement without even proper notice then it is absolutely worthless to a consumer. Why would anyone purchase such a thing? Circuit City can basically ditch you at will, and when they deem nessesary. To be honest, this is the first I've heard of such a vile thing. I bet we will be seeing a huge influx of irate threads on this site in the comming months about Circuit City. I'm sure Omessiho will be there slinging his mud to try and deflect, dodge, and avoid the truth of the situation.

Yeah! First off you're not going to be treated better just because you are rich.

For ever dollar you spend their is a customer that spends more, should he be treated better? I am confused here. How is the value of the phone less then the price of the coverage? Did you pay more for coverage then the phone? From what I understand you will get the value of the phone and the remainder of CA back on a gift card. I would imagine its impossible to give you that same phone because it probably no longer exists.
