Circuit City advertised a Toshiba Notebook Model A135S4677 for $479.99 in their Sunday circular July 29, 2007. I first tried the website on Sunday afternoon and could not access the site. I later called their 800 number and was told the item was sold out and only available at stores. I asked what stores in this area, there are over 10 circuit city stores and none of them had this item. It was also prominently displayed on the website. I asked to speak with a manager, but was placed on hold for 10 minutes and then disconnected. I have purchased many products including computers, LCD TV's, XM receivers and many other products (thousands of $), but now I will reconsider shopping at their stores or website. This is obviously false advertising and it appears Circuity City never had any intention to stock this product. This type of marketing should be illegal and there should be an easy way to report it to a government regulatory agency, especially a national chain like Circuit City. I sent them an email on Sunday outlining my complaint and this is Wednesday and no acknowledgement from Circuit City management.

Product displayed in the circulars as mentioned above are nation-wide and are marked as limited stock. Before you go and complain ask yourself " did i actually try to read the ad? " Next time go to CCity on the day of the sale, instead of being lazy and sitting around and expecting to get a big sales item.

This is not a rip off. Do not file aggrevated reports just because the computer was out of stock. I'm sure if you had any patience, you could have spoken with a CSA or manager to get one on order for you. When I worked as a CSA and something was out of stock, we either ordered that one for him for the SAME price as the sales ad, or gave them a better deal on a better product. Patience is key. Do not start filing reports and becoming beligerant with management, you will find a fast way too the door.

i love it when customers whine that something is not in stock then scream false advertisment. so sorry we dont make laptops in the warehouse but being an intolerable b***h because something is out of stock is just plain stupid. if you want to blame someone why dont you go blame the customer that got it before you because you where to d**n slow

Did you call around to any of your local Circuit City stores? We had plenty of them in stock at our circuit city store and we actually sold out yesterday. the ad is a nationwide ad so it is possible that some stores may have different amount of inventories based on the buying habits of the customers.
