after having read the other stories about GE-Zurich and after my own experience when the sales person at Office Max sold me the contract, I got the impression that it is part of the sales training to tell customers that they can drop their unite, brake it, and get a new one throught the insurance. This was what the Office Max guy told me and I see some similarities in other cases.

I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE UPSET AND WANT TO BRING THERE ANGER TO FORUMS LIKE THIS BUT LETS BE CLEAR AND VERY REAL . (1) WHEN YOU CALL CSP YOU ARE GETTING A COMPUTER TECHNICIAN , THIS IS NOT SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE GUY THERE TO MOLLIFY YOUR FEELINGS, HIS CONCERN IS FOR THE HARDWARE ON YOUR SYSTEM, AND ONLY THE HARDWARE, YOUR MP3, YOUR PICTURES, ALL THAT HE SEES AS POSSIBLE HINDRANCES TO THE SMOOTH PERFORMANCE OF YOUR SYSTEM. DO YOU ARGUE WITH YOUR PLUMBER OR AUTOMECHANIC, SAME THING AND THESE GUYS WORK WITH YOUR INSURANCE GUYS, ALL STATE OR STATE FARM FOR AUTO AND HOME , GE ZURICH AND OTHER UNDERWRITERS FOR YOUR COMPUTER . (2)REMEMBER WHEN YOU ARE IN THE STORES PURCHASING EXTENDED WARRANTIES , YOU ARE GETTING THEM FROM A SALESMAN , YOUR BEST DEFENSE IS TO ACTUALLY READ EXACTLY WHAT THE CONTRACT SAYS , THE CONTRACTS DO NOT COVER INCIDENTAL DAMAGES ,THE CONTRACTS DO NOT COVER MIS USE AND ABUSE , THE CONTRACTS DO NOT COVER ACTS OF GOD , THESE CONTRACTS COVER MANUFACTURES DEFECTS , , AND THATS IT , NOW IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH CHANGING YOUR HARDRIVE AND OTHER PARTS OF YOUR COMPUTER , THEN THIS CONTRACT MAY NOT BE FOR YOU BUT THE AVERAGE USER LIKES ,TO BE ABLE TO CALL US AND AFTER A BRIEF TROUBLE SHOOTING SESSION , NORMALLY 10 TO 20 MINUTES ,WE CAN SCHEDULE A TECHNICIAN TO COME OUT TO YOUR HOME THE TECHNICIAN MAY WANT TO FIX YOUR COMPUTER , BUT THE INSURANCE UNDERWRITER HAS TO OKAY IT , THATS THE BOTTOM LINE , IF THE UNDERWRITER DOESNT OK IT THE TECH DOESN'T GET PAID . THAT IS WHY WE HAV YOU GO THROUGH THESE STEPS , WHEN YOU CALL WE START FILLING OUT AN INSURANCE FORM BASED ON YOUR ANSWERS TO OUR QUESTIONS , WE HAVE A TOUGH TIME GETTING STUFF PASSEDBY OUR QC BEFORE IT GETS TO THE UNDERWRITERS FOR APPROVAL , ITS NOT OING TO GO BEFORE THEM UNLESS ITS AN AIRTIGHT CASE , AND WERE 99% PERCENT SURE WE'RE GOING TO GET PAID . I'M NOT GOING TO BLAME THE CIRCUIT CITY GUYS FOR MKING A LIVING BUT PEOPLE PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT IS THEIR JOB , HERES SOMETHING YOU DID NOT KNOW******* WHEN YOU BUY A COMPUTER YOU HAVE 1 FULL YEAR FROM THE PURCHASE DATE ONE OF OUR SERVICE CONTRACTS . THAT MEANS YOU HAVE A FULL YEAR TO GET THE FACTS ON WHAT YOU ARE BUYING . YOU GOT QUESTIONS CALL US WE'LL BE HERE AND WE WILL GLADLY TELL YOU WHATS COVERED AND WHATS NOT , NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER LET THE COMPUTER MANUFACTURER OR EVEN CC OR WHEREVER ELSE YOU PURCHASE THE COMPUTER FROM TELL YOU TO WAIT UNTIL THE EXTENDED WARRANTY KICKS IN TOGET YOUR SYSTEM FIXED """" CLEARLY ON THE CONTRACT IT STATES , DOES NOT COVER PREEXISTING CONDITIONS , YOUR SYSTEM FAILS WITHIN THAT FIRST 365 DAYS , EVEN 364 THAT IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT FROM THE FACTORY , ALL COMPUTER MANUFACTURERS HAVE AT LEAST A ONE YEAR WARRANTY IN PLACE TO LOCATE DEFECTIVE SYSTEMS AND A QUICK NOTE SOFTWARE SUPPORT COST MONEY , LOTS OF IT ANYWHERE FROM 20 BUCKS A SHOT UP TO 80 BUCKS YOU WANT SOFTWARE SUPPORT YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO PAY FOR IT I'M DONE JUST THOUGHT I'D GIVE YOU A HEADS UP BUT ITS ALSO MY JOB TO FIX YOUR COMPUTER
