John "Jack" Muenzer - lie, cheat, steal, and all with a smile, Largo Florida
In the Fall of 2012 I purchased a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado from Jack Muenzer of Largo, FL. Mr. Muenzer presented himself through multiple phone conversations as an expert on vintage cars and specifically with Oldsmobile products. He stated his 50 years of experiance owning, rebuilding and racing cars places himself in a unique position to assess the condition and quality of vintage cars. His comments regarding the mechanical condition of this particular 1966 Toronado were stellar and I was told by Mr Muenzer on 10/2/12 and 10/3/12 that the mechanical condition of the car was 'outstanding'. Feeling confident and sure, I proceeded with the purchase of the car and arranged shipping to Delaware. Upon arrival of the car it became immediately clear that I was taken advantage of through Mr. Muenzer's deceptive and deliberate misrepresentation of the mechanical condition of the car. Examples included the car not starting when trying to remove it from the transport truck. The result of the non-start issue was a carburetor that had it's choke butterfliy jammed into the open position and not allowing a cold start. Also, a visual inspection of the front suspension showed a ripped CV joint boot and axle grease thrown around the suspension componets. This is despite being told by Mr. Muenzer that both front axles were replaced. Also, Mr. Muenzer stated the headlight vacuum actuators were replaced but when the passenger side headlight would not operate, a visual inspection revealed an original and worn out actuator. Upon performing a complete tune-up of the ignition system, a vacuum gauge reading indicated a very low vacuum condition with vacuum of about 12 inches and with an erratic an fluctuating needle that ranged between 5 inches and 15 inches of vacuum.
Mr. Muenzer intentionally misrepresented the mechanical condition of the car. Despite my multiple attempts to discuss these issues with him, Mr. Muenzer's email response was simply to "not cry or whine".

Welp, you're certainly right about buying something sight unseen and the chance a person takes. Short of going to inspect the car yourself you can only ask as many questions as possible and get a sense from the seller as to the type of person he might be. I certainly asked all the right questions but the seller was intent on misrepresenting the car and just plain lying about its condition. With that mentality and hidden agenda, there was nothing to signal to me that something was amiss.
The seller of my car is also selling other cars as well and I truly hope future buyers heed my warning and inspect the car personally. You can not trust Jack Muenzer of Largo, FL as he will lie and cheat to get your money too.

It’s a gamble when you choose to purchase a 47-year-old vehicle sight unseen and without a test-drive or pre-purchase inspection.
