Chicago Title Company Wire Fraud San Antonio Texas
I received an email from the Vice President of the Mulberry Ave branch in San Antonio that came with wire instruction and settlement statement prior to our closing date. I proceeded to wire the money as instructed and found out the day after the closing took place that Chicago Title never received the money. I was instructed by the Vice President of the San Antonio branch to contact my financial institution immediately and file a report to recall the wire. In addition, I also filed a report with the FBI. After doing so, I continued to contact the Vice President of the San Antonio branch and his office to get to the bottom of this fraudulent activity. In Speaking with Vice President of the San Antonio branch, he wanted me to keep pushing my bank to recall the wire. I had already been in contact with my bank during this ordeal and they had already been working on this for me. My bank hasn’t successfully recovered the money as of two weeks later. Additionally, I contacted my attorney and he has been working to try to recover the lost money in a timely fashion. All his attempts have been unsuccessful due to the fact that Chicago Title keeps throwing him back and forth. Chicago Title refused to resolve this matter, even though the initial wire instruction came from their server.
As I’m writing this report, I had already lost the sale and all other monies associated with the sale. I believe Chicago Title has not protected me and has failed to resolve this issue in a timely manner.
