Our family, until recently, were fans of Chase Bank. We have 2 mortgages and have had multiple credit cards issued by them. Our first hint that something was wrong was when we used one of the "Convenience Checks" they had been sending us for months. The same day that check was dated the account was closed - even though it had a zero balance! We were given the explanation that it was closed because there had been no activity for two years! Interesting timing??? Additionally, our son had his mortgage sold to Chase by a broker. He and his family were flooded out of their home and lost EVERYTHING including their cars! Would Chase defer a couple of months payments while they try to deal with this tragedy? No sir! We do not have a provision for deferring your payments. The advice given by the "customer service" rep was don't make your payments and when you get behind we have programs that we can give you some assistance... What kind of screwy advice is that??? These people are heartless, amoral, unethical blobs out to ride the backs of their 'customers' - additionally, our son had a Chase Credit card that had no balance for less than six months, he has an excellent credit rating - that account was canceled and he was never notified until he attempted to use his card! We are having our home refinanced to escape these goofballs and we hope everyone who reads this will refuse to accept their senseless business tactics that have no concern for their customers.
