Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have worked at Fashion Bug in Wisconsin for over a year now (started Nov. of '04). What a long and terrible year it has been.

I started out as a sales associate there. When I first came in, I was only being paid minimum wage at that time, $5.50. Now, yes, I was disappointed but, I was also told I'd get a raise after an entire years work had been completed.

Now, I had heard that there was a large turnover of staff in this store. I had no idea why until I met the district manager, Jeanne. I was then completely aware of why so many people were leaving. She is one of the most cold, heartless, and insensitive people on this entire planet. She has no problem berating you on the sales floor, on the phone, or anywhere else she sees fit. She would constantly send emails to the store demanding we give her money for not making charge goals. Also, if we had missed the day's sales goal by a small amount, she would write an email wanting to know why we didn't buy something to make the sales goal.

I became the assistant manager after about 11 months of work there. My pay went up to $7.50, which I was told this was a "trial pay" and after a trial period of 90 days my service would be reviewed by Jeanne and the regional manager and I would probably get a raise if everything looked good. Well, 90 days passed and now 5 months later I still am being paid $7.50 while the other assistant manager in the store is making $10.50 (I've worked there 1 1/2 years, shes worked there 9 months). I never expected $10.50, but at least possibly a $1.00 raise would have been nice. After confronting Jeanne about this she told me that it was never promised to me and she would need to speak it over with the regional manager. That never happened.

Now, if you add that on to the poor quality of clothes with sky-high prices, the unbelievable pressure to get charge cards or be written up and possibly fired, and the belittling by the district manager, you can see why Fashion Bug is one of the most horrible places on earth to work.

This company claims to be "all for women" and "empowering women" but it is not. It is the farthest thing possible from it. I would never even wish this job on my worst enemy. Do NOT work here!
