OK, the UPS store warned me! I wanted to purchase a modem, instead of paying rental fees for the modem CenturyLink gives you with their signup package. So, I had CenturyLink send me a new modem and in the box there was a UPS return label. I received new modem promptly (go figure), installed the same day, boxed up the modem and went the next day to return the old modem at the UPS store. While in the store, the UPS (United Parcel Service) clerk offered my receipt and without saying anything back, he said "You will need this, I promise!" I said why, and he said that CenturyLink is infamous for saying they did not receive the returned item. Oh ok, well give me that receipt and I went on my way.

After a month, I received a normal bill for same amount (Services, PLUS NEW modem cost divided by three months). I checked online with the CenturyLink site and there was no mention of the modem return, yet. I brushed it off and was hoping that it is just going through the system, this makes sense I thought. So, I didn’t think about it again until my next bill. The next bill came and the modem return was still not on the 2nd bill. Well then.. I went online again to UPS site, checked the status, thinking something went wrong and sure as hell, they received it in Kansas, a few days after it left Co. Ok then, now I call CenturyLink with UPS receipt in hand and looking at the confirmation screen with the name of (T TEETERS) as signed by on 11/19/2015. Spoke with someone, can’t find the name, but was told by CenturyLink that everything is ok, just wait and it will work itself out. LOL, yeah right! So the 3rd month comes and I see that it is still not returned in their system. I called and received a confirmation number of (1221####) saying that I will receive a credit on the next month’s bill, nice!

--- (Month Four) after return of the rented modem ---

Today, on my little bank transaction app for my phone, I saw that I was billed by CenturyLink again for the monthly amount, yet, there was still no credit to my account, hum... I was told that the last confirmation would take care of that and I would not receive a bill for a couple of months, since that last credit and confirmation number took care of everything, right... After talking to a very nice girl today, Nicole (ID#0176###) she was apologetic, after she ran the UPS return number check again. So, confirmation # 12316### is what I wrote down today (3/15/2016). For some unknown reason (ROFL) just can’t quite trust this, and I will edit this scam report, since it is not resolved, if this does NOT finally take care of it!

Question to the world and anyone reading this: How many of you actually look at your bills each month? How many people actually follow through with these big corporate businesses that believe they rule our lives and own us, the one’s that pay for their company to exist? What has happened to America? How many people have CenturyLink duped or ripped off, because they trust that the first phone call, or second or third should solve the problem??? All of this over $110.94, which was never received and would have been forgotten about!

Now multiply this amount for just my (small) dealing with CenturyLink, and multiply that by, let’s say 100,000 people that forgot to DOUBLE check their CenturyLink Bill… The total potential theft, just for one month worth of rip-offs of the public = $11,094,000.00 USD - that’s 11.1 Million, in just one month, possibly stolen from the US citizens by this company… Now, chew on that!
