The buyer should be aware that the CCI and other camera shops of this nature sale both "Gray Market " and USA warranty merchandise. Gray market has the cheaper and usually advertised price. These products come from the country of orgin and must be sent back to that country for warranty work, unless the the shop sells a "camera store" warranty, only good at that store. USA warranty merchandise comes with the higher price due to the manufacturer, not the camera store. Any and all photo magazines will tell you the difference between Gray market and USA warranty. If you know what you are buying and don't need the USA warranty....Gray market is the answer. But If you need the comfort of the USA warranty, be prepared to pay the higher cost. This is not a scam. This is the accepted way to buy cameras through the discount stores. The consumer needs to understand the various markets and ways to buy cameras. Ignorance is not an excuse to yell scam.
