Carrier Corporation - United Technology Company Withdraws support for Boy Scouts of America screwed others too false promises the business that doesn't give a dam Farmington Connecticut
The Carrier Corporation (air conditioners) has withdrawn its support from the Boy Scouts of America this year because of the Scout's ban on homosexuals serving as Scout leaders.
A Carrier spokesman said the corporation could not support any group that doesn't operate under the same diversity guidelines as it uses for its own employees.
It's amazing how many major U.S. corations now actively seek to undermine the very same values and moral standards that democratic capitalism needs to succeed.
No doubt behind the scenes Carrier was hammered by the homosexual rights movement and, unfortunately, Carrier chose to retreat. This is nothing short of extortion.
The homosexual
rights movement is threatening the Boy Scouts by demanding they
choose between their values or their funding. And corporate America is a willing accomplice.

As I said my son belongs to BSOA but that doesn't mean that I agree with some of the rules! I agree that the company had the right to withdraw funding due to the fact that the BSOA are discriminating! We as a nation need to learn to accept the things that are different from us! - I don't mind that my son has a BSOA leader that is gay! I DO mind if he trys to influence my son to be gay. - I don't mind that men want to have sex with other men and women want to have sex with other women! I DO mind if they try to hard sell (influence) my family. - I don't mind interraccial dating! I DO mind that they call me a racist if I don't feel it is ok for me or my family. - I don't care if the person sitting next to me is of another race! I DO mind if they are here illegally. - I don't care if the person sitting next to me has green hair! I DO mind if they make fun of me cause I don't. I accept the things that are different from me but when some say I am wrong or racist or stupid because I don't agree or do the same then I get mad! I don't mind isn't that enough?? We as a nation need to learn to accept the differences and not jugde other people for those differences! The BSOA are just another 'company' following the 'rules' set by god-loving people who think that because I don't believe in god that I am going to hell! So why you ask do I allow my son to be apart of that? Because I have yet to see or hear of anything that would make me feel my son is being 'sold' something I don't agree to. The MINUTE I hear that the BSOA are trying to tell my son that being gay is wrong and that he is going to hell is the MINUTE I will pull him out and post a ROR about them. Until then I say leave them alone! They are helping more boys then anyone can say they have hurt! Even the boys that got molested by the leader is a once in a blue moon thing that just follows they priests doing the same. ANYWHERE that you find an organization that has children you will find a bad apple that will ruin it for everyone else! I FULLY agree with the companies decicion to withdraw and I say all the power to 'em! That is their right and a comapny in America for disagreeing with the beliefs of another! I am GLAD that the homosexual right movement is 'hammering' the companies that choose to support BSOA! If no one stood up for their rights as AMERICAN people then this would BE America! One last comment.... HOW can you put this report under the Civil Rights Violators catagory when the BSOA is violating the civil rights of the homosexuals by banning them as leaders??

Carrier has just gained one customer. They probably will not be going out of business. I think that fair treatment of all our citizens is important and it is important to show support when fair treatment is given. The Boy Scout policy is absurd. All that is required is that one lie and all is forgiven. Like their belief in god policy, if one tells the truth, he can't be a Boy Scout. But if he lies, and says that of course he believes in god, then he is welcomed in the Scouts.
